Wii is one of the greatest games consoles that I have ever purchased and I absolutely love all of the games that I have played on it to date.
Wii Family Ski is a game that up to five people can play and requires the Wii Fit to be able to play. It took me a while to find the Wii Fit or as it is also known the balance board but I kept on searching and got there in the end.
Wii Family Ski lets you create a character from scratch or you can import your Mii character too whilst selecting different ski gear for your character. You need to use the Nunchuck and Remote in your hands to use as ski poles and step on the Wii Board to really take advantage of this great game. The Wii Board takes over to allow the player to turn whilst skiing by measuring the swaying and leaning of the body.
In Family Ski, there are 14 different slopes to explore and each one with its own unique sights, sounds and skiing possibilities. With a selection of games from freestyle, ski school and races you have lots of choices.
Overall, I'm impressed it is obviously not the same as skiing down a mountain, but it's as close as you're likely to get without leaving your living room. This is a great multiplayer game, the only downfall is that you cannot compete directly against other players, but I appreciate that you cannot have 4 Wii Balance boards in the front room.
The game is responsive to movement on the balance board and make is an enjoyable game. This game has great effects like hearing the ice as you travel over it and tannoy announcements all add to the experience as if you were really skiing in a race.
The graphics are good as I was not expecting the best graphics as this game has so much more to offer and has so much going on, I'm very happy to say this game is well worth the £30 I paid for it and has given me and my family hours of fun playing on it, its suitable for people of all ages.
