How was it created and why is it called Fanta? A German chemist called Schetelig created Fanta in 1940 during World War ll in Germany, for the German Coca-Cola bottling company in Essen. However, because of wartime restrictions on shipping between Germany and United States, they were not able to get Coca-Cola syrup. Fanta Orange That craving of something sweet came back to me a few weeks ago during a boring night infront of the TV.
