Fanta Orange….
Most people would be familiar with the fizzy pop
drink "Fanta". Nowadays it is available in more than just the orange flavour that was originally brought out now you are able to buy it in
fruit twist, lemon and the zero flavours as well.
Fanta is available in many different formats such as cans 330ml, small bottles 500ml or 2 litre bottles. Cans however are becoming few and far between it appears as the companies try to encourage the purchase of plastic bottled drinks which although hold slightly more of the pop inside, are quite a bit more expensive than the cans of old.
***Price and Packaging***
Well obviously you are looking at paying different amounts depending on how you bought the fizzy pop but a can of this drink will usually cost around 60pence and a small bottle around the £1.20p margin 2 litre bottles are a lot higher at over £2 per bottle. I try to buy cans where I can as I find these easier to crush and recycle (which I have just started to do). If you are only slightly thirsty however a can would be a pain to hold or to drink all of it whereas a bottle is far more convenient as you are able to reseal it time and time again.
The cans and bottles both have similar design with the can being printed with the Fanta logo and the bottle just having a plastic wrapper around it. The design is very good in a way that it lets people know what the product is because the label is made up of orange it pretty much gives the game away that the drink will taste and contains orange. The bottles are easy to open and drink from as are the cans and I have had no problems with anything relating to the designs of the bottles/cans and I find the packaging pretty non-offensive.
***Look and Taste***
When you look at the Fanta either through the clear
plastic bottle or pour it into a glass, you can see the wonderful bright
orange colour of the fizzy pop (although I am not entirely convinced that this is a natural colouring). You will also notice the many fizzy bubbles that are floating about and popping when reaching the top of the drink. The drink does look rather appealing and ever so refreshing. If the Fanta is poured into a glass you can literally see the bubbles popping and sending splashes up and over the top of the glass. To look at, it makes you just want to take a big gulp.
The smell is also something that I quite clear on first opening the bottle/can. You are literally hit with the wonderfully citrus aroma that only comes from either peeling a large fresh orange or in this case opening a fizzy drink of Fanta. The smell is carried all the way to my nose when opening the can and it's as if the bubbles are also carried in with that smell as it really does make my nostrils tingle.
The taste of the
Orange Fanta itself is one of utmost refreshment. The citrus orange flavour is not overpowering and too citrus that it makes you wince when taking a sip it is far sweeter and juicer than you would thought possible. It is more like eating a small and sweet Clementine rather than eating a big old orange.
However because it is so sweet it still doesn't make it overly sickly and even when drinking a
large bottle I don't find a point where I think I am unable to drink any more because of its sweetness.
After having a can/bottle or glass of this Fanta orange I can certainly say I feel hydrated and refreshed. The bubbles make it hard for me to drink too much in one go when first opening it but once the bubbles have calmed down I am able to get a few big gulps in. I find if you try to drink too much when it is too bubbly you will end up with a similar effect as when you eat too much ice cream - I think the term is brain freeze!!!
***Nutritional Information and Ingredients***
A 250ml serving of this Fanta orange will offer you 74 calories, 17.8 grams of sugar, no fat and a trace of salt. This compare to a regular Coca Cola is far better but there is a fair bit of sugar in a bottle and for this fact it is not a drink that you would want to be drinking everyday. However if you do enjoy drinking it everyday it might be a better idea to swap to the Fanta Zero which claims to have all the same great taste but not so much sugar. The Fanta Zero offers per 250ml only 8 calories and 1.4 grams of sugar. I have tried the Zero version of the Fanta and it does taste nice but perhaps just not as good as the original Fanta.
The ingredients of the
Fanta Orange are as follows: Carbonated Water, Orange Fruit from Concentrate (5%), Citric Acid, Vegetable Extracts (Carrot, Pumpkin), Sweeteners (Acesulfame K, Aspartame, Sodium Saccharin), Preservative (Potassium Sorbate), Flavourings, Stabiliser (Guar Gum). Contains a source of Phenylalanine.

***Overall Opinion***
I would have to HIGHLY RECOMMEND Fanta Orange. It is a great drink to have on super hot days in the summer and it gives you that summer feeling if you choose to drink it in the winter months too. It is highly bubbly and quite sweet but both of these factors make for a good drink.
The orange taste that the drink has is a very nice and not too fake tasting orange tang. I do prefer to drink my Fanta from a can so that I can get that extra chilled and extra bubbly taste going on and I find you get this more with a can than when the Fanta is out of a plastic bottle although it is great to drink either way.
I would give the Fanta a good 4 star rating. The only fact that I have marked it down one star is that in generally it is not too good to be drinking it daily. It does have a fair bit of sugar in and the fizziness of the drink would not be good for your teeth or your inside if drunk on a daily basis.
