Hiya guys! Hope your ready for another children's book review as this review is based on another Roald Dahl book called:

FANTASTIC MR. FOX

A quote from the book itself!

"Boggis, Bunce and Bean are just about the nastiest and meanest three farmers you could meet......"

and that isn't a joke! Boggis, Bunce and Bean are three very successful farmers.

Boggis was a chicken farmer who kept thousands of chickens, Bunce kept duck and geese on his farm and Bean kept turkeys and brewed apple cider, gallons of which he used to drink evey day.

"Boggis, Bunce and Bean,
One fat, one short and one lean.
These horrible crooks,
So different in looks,
Were none the less equally mean."

But something bothered these three farmers, and that was none other than a fox and his family who lived under a large tree, which was sat on a hill. Every night, Mr Fox would go out to try to steal some food from one of the three farmers. A chicken, a turkey, whatever they pleased.

The farmers had decided that enough was enough. They knew that this troublesome fox stole food from them and decided to put a stop to it. So they decided to dig them out, starve them out, do anything to get them out of their hole so they could kill them. They pitched tents and waited to lure the fox.

SPOILER AHEAD! DON'T LOOK IF YOU DON'T WANT TO KNOW!

But Mr. Fox was a lot smarter than the farmers gave him credit for. Afterall, what do foxes want to go outside for? They'll only get shot at! Mr. Fox knew that the Boggis, Bunce and Bean were never going to give up waiting and more and more men were joining the search.

Now Mr. Fox soon realised that he was not only endangering himself and his family, but all the other animals who lived underground. Badgers, Weasels and Rabbits were at risk of getting shot at if they went outside. So Mr. Fox started to dig tunnels, in fact he dug tunnels right underneath the houses of Boggis, Bunce and Bean and into their storerooms full of food!

Mr. Fox took all the food he wanted to have a massive feast and at last declared that with these tunnels, none of the animals would have to go outside again or starve!

As for Boggis, Bunce and Bean....they are still waiting!

THE END!!!!

This book had been collecting dust on my shelf at home for ages now and seeing as how I've reviewed other Roald Dahl books, I thought it was time to spring clean my shelf and do a review on this one!

I thought this book was just great. Compared to some of the Roald Dalh books, this one has a little more to it than some of the earlier ones I've read. The quality of the story however is unchanged and by now, I could recognise Dahl's style a mile away. Children today, still read his stories and love them as much as I did!
In a slight change to the norm, the illustrator isn't Quentin Blake but Tony Ross. It doesn't seem like a Roald dahl book without Blake illustrating but Ross does a good enough job.
Plenty of pictures to follow along with the story and at 93 pages, this book won't seem like it's been read in five mintues, compared to some of the others. I really enjoyed reading this again and I hope that you do too! It brought back a lot of memories for me. A really good book is something you haven't read for years but go back to once in a while!
