The City Watch Of Ankh-Morpork Return
Review of Feet of Clay - Terry Pratchett by
latingirl
Advantages: A Fantasy Murder Mystery Story Filled With Humour
Disadvantages: May Not Appeal To Everyone`s Sense Of HUmour
...The novel moves at a good pace and is filled with humour ranging from silly puns to laugh out loud moments. Overall Feet Of Clay is a very good especially if you are an avid Discworld reader and like myself have a soft spot for the City Watch in particular. ...

Touched by Ardour
Review of Firethorn - Sarah Micklem by
hiker
Advantages: Romance, passion, and bloody encounters - all skilfully rendered
Disadvantages: None if you can ignore the pretty cover
...Past-half-starved she eats of the Firethorn from which she'll take her name and puts her existence into the hands of the gods. On the year-day of her departure she returns to the fold…intending to resettle, but marked now by the gods, how can she? Willingly chosen as a carnal indulgence during the Upsidedown Days by the knight Galan, she finds he will not let her go when the festivities are over - nor does she want him to…and so from drudge to maid ... ...undoubtedly a woman's tale. Firethorn is our narrator, and her focus is not allowed to shift (except on a couple of magical excursions) from what her sex and her position would allow her to see and experience and understand. But it is also a tale of war and the men who make it. The politicising - not all male to be sure for one of the warmongers is the dowager queen - the petty squabbles, the actions of men in the company of men only, the rigours ...

Assassins Apprentice - A book that offers so much
Review of The Farseer 1.Assassin's Apprentice (The Farseer Trilogy) - Robin Hobb by
kohtera4
Advantages: Excellent story line, full of adventure. Lead Character that you cant help but love
Disadvantages: Writting style is narrative - so people may not give a chance to this book. Shame!!!
The first book of the FarSeer Trilogy. Assassin's Apprentice introduces us to the young Fitz Farsser a illigitimate heir to the throne. Sounds like a stroke of luck however this is anything but fortunate for young Fitz as he is dragged into a world of court intrigue, back stabbing, and danger. Confronted by people that would do all within their power to make sure that a Royal bastard never reaches the throne. This is a tale of coming of age, about ... ...i would enjoy it after the first few pages - not because the pages would not hold my intrest but because Hobb went out on a limb and did somthing that is still a rareity in the fantasy world, she wrote this as a narrative of sorts. with all the events that you read about having happened already and the narrator is recapping the events of his life. Hobb was brave to do this as this style of writting is not common for this genre. However please dont ...

Blood of the fold continues Goodkinds greatness
Review of Blood of the Fold - Terry Goodkind by
kohtera4
Advantages: Brilliant story line - great detail yet still not a hard read
Disadvantages: You wont want the adventure to stop - but it does
...three of the series and Blood of the Fold is just as exciting, absorbing, and readable as the first two. Goodkind shows no sign of slowing down as he thrust Richard Cypher into a new adventure. The first two stories are now starting to come together as this book answers questions that the first two may of left you with. A new enemy has appeared and thsi time not even the keeper of the underworld himself would take this new evil. Richard Cyper the ... ...Wizards First Rule

Stone of Tears - Goodkind has done it again
Review of Stone of Tears - Terry Goodkind by
kohtera4
Advantages: Excellent plot that keeps you wanting more, fantastic characters that you take to your heart
Disadvantages: Absolutly none.
...second book in the series Stone of Tears continues the story of Richard Cypher. Like the previous book in the series it is brilliantly written and unlike most sequals this one equals if not betters the first. Goodkind keeps up his detailed writting style brilliantly deplicting the emotions of his characters. Without giving to much away Richard is again plucked out of the familiaity that he longs for and again is thrust into an aventure that he neither ... ...The Wizards First Rule Stone of Tears
