Book of Fairytales But not for Children!
Review of Angela Carter's Book of Fairy Tales - Angela Carter by Merced

Advantages: Great selection of short stories from around the world
Disadvantages: Can be a bit Gory

Angela Carter's book of fairytales is an interesting mix of stories from around the globe including Europe, Africa, Asia, and America and provides an interesting insight into the social systems or beliefs of the times. However these are not the happily ever after children's versions that we are may be more used to, but tales with a much darker side. These tales are definitely not for children as some of the tales can be either risqué or quite gory ...
...of Virago Books on how Angela Carter brought this book together, and this is followed by an Introduction by Angela Carter on the development of fairytales. At the end of the book there is an Afterword by Marina Warner covering how Angela Carter's interest in writing and fairytales began. One of the greatest books of all time
Review of Magician - Raymond E. Feist by molebert

Advantages: Well Written, Empathetic characters, Epic storyline
Disadvantages: Long, slow build up

This book easily ranks among the greatest fantasy books of all time, and as a testiment to this, I have already read this book at least five times already, with plans to do so again in the not to distant future. The easy writing style used by Raymond E. Feist not only transports you into the twin worlds of Kelewan and Midkemia, but grabs and maintains your interest throughout what is an epic story. I found I connected and empathised easily with ...
...characters were well defined and written. The world created within these pages is well defined and described, and even though it follows many generic fantasy stereotypes, the characters, story and depth of information combine to exceed the generic fare offered by many within this genre. Although Raymond E. Feist wrote several sequels and prequels, and although some are quite good, this book should always be considered the best of them. ... Read review

You're a wizard Harry!
Review of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (Book 7) - J. K. Rowling by midpikyrozziy

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows
Review of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (Book 7) - J. K. Rowling by maggie_rose123

Advantages: Lots of twist and turns, very clever.
Disadvantages: Harry just cant keep on winning

...but i think that fact harry just keeps on winning against voldemort is a little unbelievable, as voldemort is a very advanced wizard, but then again it is a book about wizards, how believable can it be. I thought the wrighting was fantastic and it was very cleverly done! I also think the books are so good that i could start over and read them all again! If there is anyone think of reading them, then i would say that it is worth the time, they will ... Read review
