The Magician's Nephew - A Insight into the Future
Review of The Magician's Nephew - C.S. Lewis by js2ht2andl

Advantages: Short, Great introduction to the rest of the series, humourous
Disadvantages: None

...provides a great introduction about the origins of Narnia. Learn why Aslan is so feared yet respected. Find out how the white witch came to be in exisence. Discover why certain animals were given voices. Little Digory is the first character whose adventures in Narnia are documented and it is in this book that we discover how it came to be that four children named Peter, Susan, Edmund and Lucy were able to make the trip to Narnia after Digory's return. ...
...and takes us back to the classic days of magic and fairy tales. I read the book in three sittings after being captivated and totally taken over by the story. I am now in the process of reading it to my little sister who has been drawn in by the tales that I once escaped to as a child of her age. She is loving the book and so there is no problem getting her off to bed at the moment because she too is dying to reach the next book where she can read ... Read review

Must read now! The Chronicles of Narnia.
Review of Chronicles of Narnia - C.S. Lewis by joshyh

Advantages: It being the complete story - fantasy, romance, religion, philosophy, thrills & action are always to be found!
Disadvantages: Depends on how determined you are - it is easy to get bogged down.

If 1000words make a picture, 7 books full of words make a masterpiece as is shown by C.S. Lewis's creation of the world and history of Narnia. Anyone who has not read these books had better have a good excuse! They should definitely be on the reading list for every school worldwide because they tell a perfect story - although, of course, I did feel a little embarassed reading them at school so if these are a present for a child, you might want to ...
...mine! Here is a list of the books in order with a taste of what they give: The Magician's Nephew - The start of the adventure and we witness the birth of a seemingly perfect world - Narnia. We have our first sighting of the mysterious Aslan and striaght away we can see the religious underlying of these books. I wouldn't say that this is the best book so make sure you persevere with it - it's worth it in the end! The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe ... Read review

My wardrobe seems boring now...
Review of The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe - C.S. Lewis by Amy69

Advantages: strong desctipitive language, suitable for all, easy to connect with, unique style
Disadvantages: /

When Narnia was released in the cinema last year, I was asked if I wanted to go and see it. And did I accept this invite? No! At that time, all I knew about the film was that it was fantasty-based, and seemed a bit 'kiddish' (though why this was a problem, I have no idea - it doesn't usually stop me!). So I missed my chance to explore the world of myth, and stayed at home instead. Alone. Then last week, I finished the most fantastic book in the ...
...had briefly seen Lord Of The Rings on tv, so I was in the mood for something full of exploration and fable. I searched the teenage section, only to find a bunch of books based on love and romance...not much variety or excitement there then! So I sauntered over to the classical section, a shelf in the library I would normally turn a blind eye at. Browsing along, reading the spines, I spied such titles as What Katy Did Next...The Railway Children...Goodnight ... Read review

The Horse And His Boy - What A Ride!
Review of The Horse and his Boy - C.S. Lewis by hypnoticstate

Advantages: A great addition to the Chronicles of Narnia!
Disadvantages: Less of the story is spent actually IN Narnia but the story is very griping!

The Horse And His Boy is, chronologically, the third book in C.S. Lewis' "The Chronicles Of Narnia". The chronicles as a whole are something that i'm growing to love. During my childhood, i watched the BBC dramatisations of "The Lion, The Witch & The Wardrobe", "Prince Caspian And The Voyage Of The Dawn Treader" and "The Silver Chair". To this day they still bring back strong feelings of nostalgia (and i've recently bought them on DVD, can't wait ...
...never read them. I wasn't the reading type back then (how that's changed!) Then, in 2005, Disney brought out "The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe" movie and, again, those feelings of nostalgia resurfaced. That was in 2005. By December 2006, the DVD was out and i watched it again and still loved it. This being around Christmas time I was thinking of something to get my girlfriend as a present. I knew she liked reading and she had expressed interest ... Read review

Review of The Silver Chair - C.S. Lewis by lobourse

Advantages: Wonderful characterisation, good story, happy ending

The Silver Chair is the sixth and penultimate of the seven books which make up the Chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis. With Peter, Susan, Edmund and Lucy too old to return to Narnia, two other children carry the tale forward, as they are sent on a quest by Aslan to find a lost prince. PLOT SUMMARY After his adventure on the Dawn Treader in Narnia, Eustace Scrubb has to return to this progressive school, Experiment House, where he is bullied by ...

Eusatce falls off trying to pull Jill back from the edge, and she is left alone in horror, when she is met by a lion – Aslan whom they called on. Aslan tells her that she and Eustace are to look for the lost prince of Narnia, who disappeared long ago. He is the only son of the aged king Caspian, who has no other heirs. Aslan gives her four signs to repeat that will help her on her quest, ... Read review
