Goodbye Sookie Stackhouse

Advantages: The return of Sookie, all my favourite characters, anticipation of the ending
Disadvantages: Lack of vampire and were characters, unnecessary returns of old characters, ending

A disappointing conclusion to the series

Advantages: Quick and easy read. Page turner. Story is told in an interesting way. Good twists.
Disadvantages: Abrupt ending. Not as good as previous books in the series.

'I had a fleeting second of incredulity that there'd ever been a time I hadn't known the extent of the supernatural world. And here I sat in Lucky Bar-B-Q with two witches, two part-demons, a telepath, and a weretiger.' Plot Sookie Stackhouse star ...

I've long thought that much of the joy of Terry Pratchett's adult works lay in their very derivativeness. Of course, being derivative is a sin. It is second cousin to plagiarism and therefore (obviously) just as guilty. Or so you might think if you tak ...

Dodger - Terry Pratchett at his Best

Advantages: A really good read
Disadvantages: None

Set in Dickensian England, Terry Pratchett takes us to new territory with "Dodger". Mr Pratchett makes the point that it is fiction, not a history book, so don't look at dates too closely. But he really makes this period of history come alive. Any notions ...
