...to write could well be the last words i write because after this I'll probably have to go into hiding. But i thought the lord of the rings trilogy are the most boring books i've EVER read. Okay yeah the concept is great and the movies are probably my favourite movies of all time but the books where so dull i just couldn't finish reading them. Advantages: Great childrens book that adults will enjoy as well
Disadvantages: not as dark as the other books

Great Childrens book that you can read over and over again. I actually saw the movie before reading the book and I remember thinking there's no way the book can be as good as the film. But i was pleasantly suprised, the book was very well written, it goes into enough detail without being boring and its got a very light hearted feel to it. I think all kids will be able to identify with this book, as all kids at some stage wish they were wizards ...
...the adventure of starting at a new school and making new friends are all things that children will enjoy reading about. There's enough mystery in the plot to keep first time readers guessing.
