Unique Fantasy
Review of The Black Jewel Trilogy - Anne Bishop by vampyremage

Advantages: Interesting world, unique characters, well written
Disadvantages: None

The Black Jewels Trilogy includes 3 books: Book 1: Daughter of the Blood Book 2: Heir to the Shadows Book 3: Queen of the Darkness I originally discovered this series about 5 years ago when searching for new books to read. At the time I had no idea who Anne Bishop was but the preview for the first book looked interesting so I decided to pick it up. I was not disappointed. Right from the beginning I could tell that there was something special ...
...fantasy series out there. The world itself was richly detailed and unique, the characters were all memorable and completely individual and the story itself was epic and creative. The series was often dark and violent with characters ranging from deamons to dead to witches to slaves and free men and women. Anne Bishop is an excellent author and I cannot recommend this series highly enough. ... Read review
