Death gets a new apprentice
Advantages: Terry's humour will keep you laughing for ages Disadvantages: some bits of the story gloomy
Mort is part of a series of different stories that all take place on the discworld. A planet as you guessed it in the shape of a disk which is held on top of a giant turtle named great A tuin. Most of the books have a lot of humor in them and Mort has a bit of gloom in it as well as humor. The book starts off when Mort who is not the smartest person in the world goes looking for work. When no one else will take him the grim reaper aka death decides ... ...Through out the book Mort goes through a transformation and almost slowly becomes death. He does not actually need to die in order to become death. One character I don't like is very much like the queen from black adder. Although I do enjoy terry humor in most the books I have read so far I found this a bit of a hard read. I would recommend you read this even though have given some disadvantages it still has a lot of funny lines in it. Please not ...

Let the Morningstar Light up your Life!
Advantages: fast paced, wonderful evocative Characters, great tale of heroes. Disadvantages: ....tell me if you find any ok?
...the peoples hero. A morningstar is an evil, ball shaped weapon on a chain. The ball has lots of nasty spikes sticking out of it, and if you get cracked round the head with one of'em, you're off to meet your maker quick sharp! Also it is the last star in the sky before dawn, the one that sees off the dark of night and beckons on the daylight. After an impressive rescue of a friend, Owen, Mace and their friends Wulf (the hunchback) Ilka (the Mute Whore) ... ...Highlands as rebels against the evil Lord Azrek and the Southern King Edmund. However, each of these heroes is a real person. A person with troubles, prejudices and fears. All of which are uncovered as the threat of the return of the dreaded Vampyre kings becomes a reality, and each man and woman face what lives deep within their hearts. This is one of Gemmell's earliest works, and is written in the first person, from the view of Owen Odell, the ...

What happens when you are kissed by Mistral
Advantages: Great, fast paced read. Disadvantages: some sex scenes might be to much for some people.
The Author Laurell K Hamilton has featured on the New York Times best selling list and is a mother and wife. She lives in St. Louis, Missouri and has written two series of books, the first series is based on Anita Blake a vampire hunter and the second which the book I'm reviewing is from is the merry Gentry series. She has also written single books and has short stories. On the Back Once upon a time I had a day job: I was a private detective. But ... ...I am Princess Meredith, heir to the throne of Faerie. A virtual prisoner of my aunt, the Queen of Air and Darkness, I am incarcerated with just some of our world's most beautiful men for company. They are my bodyguards - and my lovers. For I have a duty to perform: I must produce an heir. And if I fail? Well, then my life is forfeit and death awaits at the vengeful hands of my treacherous cousin Cel and his followers. But now Mistral, captain of ...

Fantastique Mythique De Lint, N'est pas?
Advantages: Impressive background-research and external-reference. Compelling fantasy legendscape. Disadvantages: Author's early work. Repetitive and careless French Phrases. Slow? Unrealistic legendscape.
Moonheart is a mythic fantasy novel (think Neil Gaiman) based first in present day Canada, and then in the "Otherworld", (an alternate plane in Celtic mythology where spirits live.) The novel follows the separate but intertwining threads of different sets of characters. First there are the inhabitants of Tamson house ("the good guys"), chiefly Jamie Tams, his niece Sara Kendell and a biker who is staying with them called Blue. Secondly there are ... ...my only real problem with Moonheart though, and that is exemplary in itself. This novel was some of the author's earliest work, and since he now has 20 more years of experience, I would be very interested in reading some of his more recent work. Due to bad language, and a couple of (very short) scenes which you wouldn't want your children to read, (unless you want to explain sexual-sadism to your darling 8-year-old) I would recommend Moonheart only ...

Oh Dear
Advantages: Readable Disadvantages: Just not as good as the other books
Now the first the books of this series were great, I absolutely loved them. However this one leaves a lot to be desired. It's just got so repetitive. This one does not have as many twists and turns in it, so at the end you just think, is that it? There's no real excitement, it's just like a novel. I think maybe James Patterson has taken this as far as it is going to go, because obviously they're not going to get anything more out of it. It was an ...
