Death gets a new apprentice
Advantages: Terry's humour will keep you laughing for ages Disadvantages: some bits of the story gloomy
Mort is part of a series of different stories that all take place on the discworld. A planet as you guessed it in the shape of a disk which is held on top of a giant turtle named great A tuin. Most of the books have a lot of humor in them and Mort has a bit of gloom in it as well as humor. The book starts off when Mort who is not the smartest person in the world goes looking for work. When no one else will take him the grim reaper aka death decides ... ...Through out the book Mort goes through a transformation and almost slowly becomes death. He does not actually need to die in order to become death. One character I don't like is very much like the queen from black adder. Although I do enjoy terry humor in most the books I have read so far I found this a bit of a hard read. I would recommend you read this even though have given some disadvantages it still has a lot of funny lines in it. Please not ...

...the peoples hero. A morningstar is an evil, ball shaped weapon on a chain. The ball has lots of nasty spikes sticking out of it, and if you get cracked round the head with one of'em, you're off to meet your maker quick sharp! Also it is the last star in the sky before dawn, the one that sees off the dark of night and beckons on the daylight. After an impressive rescue of a friend, Owen, Mace and their friends Wulf (the hunchback) Ilka (the Mute Whore) ... ...Highlands as rebels against the evil Lord Azrek and the Southern King Edmund. However, each of these heroes is a real person. A person with troubles, prejudices and fears. All of which are uncovered as the threat of the return of the dreaded Vampyre kings becomes a reality, and each man and woman face what lives deep within their hearts. This is one of Gemmell's earliest works, and is written in the first person, from the view of Owen Odell, the ...

Oh Dear
Advantages: Readable Disadvantages: Just not as good as the other books
Now the first the books of this series were great, I absolutely loved them. However this one leaves a lot to be desired. It's just got so repetitive. This one does not have as many twists and turns in it, so at the end you just think, is that it? There's no real excitement, it's just like a novel. I think maybe James Patterson has taken this as far as it is going to go, because obviously they're not going to get anything more out of it. It was an ...

Don't trust the fairies cos they can be dangerous!!
Advantages: Turning point in the series, plot has thickened Disadvantages: Departure or death of a few main characters
This is the latest instalment of the Sookie Stackhouse series. The story starts off with the “coming out” of the were, something that has been building up and mentioned in previous books. It all turns out quite well but the calmness is disturbed when Crystal’s body is found crucified in the parking lot outside of Merlotte’s. While the investigation is going on, Sookie is found herself being “tricked” into a formal attachment by Eric and under vampire ... ...short-lived. For the adventure lovers
Advantages: parts are action paked and exciting Disadvantages: Can be quite tedious in parts
Personally, I found this satisfactory. However, I would only recommend to poeple who have read either other books by Christopher Paolini, or books similar to this. Parts I thouroughly enjoyed and found very exciting and thrilling, however as the book is all about a journey, naturally there is a lot on the journey. But this leads to the book becoming quite tedious and repetetive in parts. It was a struggle for me to pick up this book and read it, ... ...first 100 pages I was gripped but as it went on, it was a fight to finish and to be honest I am surprised I did. If this is the first fantasy novel you are going to read I would not advise it, as it may put you off others, however if you have enjoyed other novels of the authors then this may be to your taste. If you do begin reading it, and find yourself bored, do not try and carry on till the end, there is no point. Give it up now, believe me you ...
