To find him, you must complete missions from both of the Factions until you are playing them off against each other and recieve intel on where the jackal is.
I was a huge fan of the original Far Cry game on the PC, and also really liked Far Cry Instincts Predator on the Xbox 360. So when I heard this game was being released I couldn't wait to play it. In a way I was slightly dissapointed with that fact that it wasn't really like the original, in terms of gameplay, due to you having to go and recieve missions and not just play level by level. But after a few hours of playing that dissapointment started to dissapear when I stopped thinking of it as the first games sequel and just played it as its own game, and it turned out to be a very good, gripping game.
The graphics in the game are excellent, and the physics are very good. I spent a good few hours just playing around on the map editor with barrels and ammo crates, creating structures from them and then standing back to watch them all explode. The only problem was that sometimes doing that made the games frame rate majorly slow down and even sometimes crash.
In the game you have a case of malaria, and are growning sicker and sicker as the game goes on, so to cure this you have to take passports to hidden civilians and they reward you with medicine. But the medicine only lasts for a few hours and it can be very frustrating when you start suffering symptons whilst in a mission.
The game has a online multiplayer mode but I have not played this yet due to not having Xbox Live, so I can't rate what I thought about it. But if I ever do play it online I will edit this review with my thoughts.
Overall I think this is a very good game, with lots of side missions and fun to be had on the map maker and will take around 15 hour to complete the main storyline. I've seen the game for sale in Blockblusters for just 17.99 and that is definately a price worth going for.
Advantages: Beautiful graphics and landscapes Disadvantages: Monotonous gameplay.
Far Cry 2.
I bought this game for the Xbox 260 after having played the first installment of the game, Far Cry, on the PC and being very impressed. However, I feel this latest offering is somewhat of a disspointment. It cost me £29.99 from play.com in October 2008.
The story of the game is you are out to kill "The Jackal" who is a serial arms dealer who you have had dealings with in the past. To get to him you must steadily build up contacts, unlock ... ...endless landscape, which in itself is beautiful and partly makes up for the poor gameplay. The graphics in general with this game are extaordinary; the beautiful, lush, African landscapes seem to roll on forever, and change rapidly and blend into one another seemlessly. The buildings, people and vehicles are also beautifully made; in general, this game is exceptional graphically and really makes you able to immerse yourself in the game. And it doesn't ...

Advantages: Lot's of missions and gameplay Disadvantages: Takes ages to get around map
...work? --------------------------------------------------
There is far too much travel in the game! The map being great is a must have but going from one side to the other by car take upwards of twenty minutes. It's very annoying having to kill guards on your travels when you simply want to go to a mission.
Bus stops have been located around the map so you can travel corner to corner but I found many missions were not located near them.
You also ... ...you need to get aid and also pills. This takes up time and can get annoying when you just want to attempt a mission.

Setting the game in Africa, has allowed the design team to use rich colours, amazing mountains, trees and wildlife to deliver amazing game play! In fact the first 5 minutes of the game is yourself in a taxi, which you can't ...

Advantages: 50 square kilometers of visually stunning African landscape Disadvantages: Story does very little with politically-charged setting
The world of Far Cry 2 is filled with all sorts of nasty people but the real star is the setting its self with its 50 square kilometers of landscape, aside from providing the opportunities from soaking an amazing sunset, Far Cry 2's brilliantly turain harmonizes with the first person combat. With sure a diverse landscape, all environment factors that go along with it, and a Hugh selection of weaponry, your given a tremendous amount of freedom to ... ...leave this African wilderness.
Far Cry 2's story goes like this, your a mercenary working for a client, who sent you to an unnamed Africa nation engulfed in civil war, you job is to take out a notorious arms dealer knows as the Jackal. In order to find him you'll need to begin working for various waring factions that you can trance your target. Complicated things is the fact your character has malaria, which mean you'll occasional need to play nice ...

Advantages: More realistic than most games out there. Disadvantages: Tends to have the same ideas behind most missions.
This game is one of my favorite 360 games in my collection. The game is based out of Africa, which I like because it gives you a sense that it is a more realistic than other games. It has a wide range of weapons, all of which you have to buy. You make money (diamonds) from doing missions like doing a hit, or scouting etc. Their aren't really very many cars to drive (only a couple kinds) and a few kinds of boats. The only thing I didn't like about ...

Review of Far Cry 2 (Xbox 360)
Caught between two rival factions in war-torn Africa, you are sent to take out "The Jackal", a mysterious character who has rekindled the conflict between the warlords, jeopardizing thousands of lives. In order to fulfil your mission you will have to play the factions against each other, identify and exploit their weaknesses, and neutralise their superior numbers and firepower with surprise, subversion, cunning and, of course, brute force.
