I signed up to fastpay a few weeks ago when the service was just getting off the ground and have to say that it has been very handy for me so far. As someone who uses auction sites a lot it has been very convenient in arranging payment of money. I also use it to pay small bills to people when I go out and haven't got cash on me - I and a group of friends went for a meal which one of us paid for on their debit card and we all e-mailed him the money over the next few days. You can put in up to £250 and transfer this money instantly, so it is good for small transactions with people but not large purchases with companies. You also get an SMS message when you have money paid into your account so you can see how things are going. (Although if you already have £250 in your account it won't let people send it to you, so it is a good idea to make sure you've got about a £100 in pretty much all the time.) It was very easy to sign up to and I was glad you don't have to be a mainstream NatWest customer as I bank with the Halifax, and it's not that they're particularly good, it's just I have some kind of mental block when it comes to changing accounts. The only thing is that charges may be introduced some time in September which I am not keen on at all, - apparently this is because not enough people are signing up and so they aren't making any money (they were hoping adverts on site/deals with sites to use f/pay.) So if you sign up not only is it a good deal but it will keep it that way for me. (Sorry to be selfish.)
How helpful would this review be to a person making a buying decision? Rating guidelines
Hi Katie, this service is a new one on me so I was interested to read your thoughts on it. Don't be put off by the ratings so far; consider editing this op and put more info into it so that we can get a full picture of the service on offer, how you apply etc and people will generally to happy to take another look. Hope this is of help - let me know if you do expand this in my guestbook. Cheers Kirsty

Sounds quite similar to a paybox like system really - although given my track record with Natwest I won't be bothering. Will be interesting to see when RBOS start offering this service... Mike

It would be nice to have some more information on the service. As it is your opinion doesn't really give us enough to decide whether the service is for us or not.
