FastTrack - Musicmatch Jukebox 5.1

Musicmatch (basic) is a free to download Music Jukebox, but more importantly, it can encode/decode mp3s/wmas etc etc... and creadte audio CDs. In case you don't an mp3 is an audio file that is as good as CD quality, but only takes up 3-5 megs in general, around 128kbits/sec leads to a good quality file and 192kbits/sec is as good as CD quality to me, of course it all depends on what software made the file, and if it was MMJB, chances are it sounds excellent. With a decent sound system like I have in my PC (Soundblaster 1024 & PCWorks FPS1000 speakers) it is now very rare that I even switch on my stereo. Having ripped all of my favourite CDs into MP3 I needed a decent MP3 player and after trying Winamp, Sonique amongst others I came across Musicmatch Jukebox. I recently downloaded the latest free version of MusicMatch's excellent Jukebox from www.musicmatch.com, and have found it to be packed with innovative features. For example, MP3 encoding of CDs is performed at up to six times normal speed, and you can buy the Plus version which will give you encoding speeds of up to twelve times normal playing speed. My previous experience was with RealJukebox, but that only ever encoded MP3s at single speed. Playlists can be made and saved, and a full library of the files you have encoded is easily accessible. This is at version 6 now, and gets better all the time. It's a music player and recorder and also has links to the CDDB. In version 5 I had a very samll problem with the program setting the sound volume to zero when it shut down. Tech support sent me a new DLL that resolved the problem within two days of reporting it. It can play any type of tracks , but I use it to organize my MP3s. It does this with a combination of library and playlists.
