bought a fazer 600 as a first bike almost five year ago. Have since ridden almost 40,000 miles in all weathers inc. a trip to the Isle of Man TT races in 2003. This machine is an ideal first bike, excellent in cornering, good brakes and can be forgiving when slight mistakes are made. it's handling makes it superb on all roads including filtering through heavy traffic in town. it is also quite comfortable cruising along the motorway, with a good riding position and a good view from the mirrors. As with any bike it needs regular servicing the main points being the chain and brakes, which if not looked after will wear quite quickly. yamahas are prone to corrosion and after five years of punishment I have had to replace the down pipes of the exhaust and the front brake calipers. Therefore I recommend regular cleaning and polishing and a garage would be preferred. This is a good fun machine to have and although I would maybe like something else I have no regrets. The only reason for going for a different bike is because this is all I've ridden.

Hi Mac,
Thanks for your op!
I'm seriously thinking of getting a new fazer, & am doing some research into the 2004 model.
Unfortuneately no one has written a review yet on that model, I think I have sold myself on it anyhow, but it would be nice to have at least some comments from another owner!
I currently live in Portugal, & are looking for a duel purpose bike, firstly commuting 110kms round trip to work, & secondly, something thats also FUN!
In its class. it has to be the sexiest machine, but as we all know, looks ain't everything honey!
They retail at 7000 euros here, (£4650 approx.) quite reasonable compared to Uk price!
If anyone is interested I could send details & dealer info.
Anyway, I'm wafling, if you have a new Fazer 600, please give us your opinion!
sorry to have wafled so much, but I'm new to Ciao, & don't really know what you expect.
best regards to all,
Richard, AKA Little Dick!

Welcome to Ciao. My dad had one of these in silver and it was a great machine. Served him well! He replaced it for a Fazer 1000...something you have to see, and now owns an R1. pVcQ xXx
