On a trip to the hairdresser a while back, she used a particular Redken product (All Soft Velvet Whip if you're wondering) on my hair that left it feeling amazingly soft. I was very impressed but held back on purchasing it, because I had other things I needed to buy at the time which were more of a priority.

About a month ago I finally decided to make the purchase, and did a search for the best price online. Feelunique.com offered the best value at just £13.10 whereas Hqhair were charging £15.35. Not a huge saving you might think, but one big difference is that feelunique offer free postage, which I think makes this extra good value.

Of course, since I was on the site, I decided to have a browse and see if there were any other bargains to be had! The site sells a large range of beauty products, and they are mainly salon brands such as Redken, TIGI, Kerastase, etc.. You won't find your standard brands such as Radox and Palmolive on here - the site definitely goes down the luxury route, but the prices all seem to be a little lower than you would pay in salons or on the high street and with free delivery on everything, you can be sure to get a bargain.

Navigation is very easy, with clear tabs at the top of the page separating the site into sections such as 'hair care', 'fragrances' etc, as well as the option to search by brand or a box to type in the name of the product you're looking for. Something I really like about the site is that if you click on (for example) hair treatments, it then gives you options to view all products by hair type, so you can see all the products for, say, dry hair at once, so you don't have to wade through pages of products that will be no good for you.

Each product has a large picture and information about the product. Making a purchase is also very easy but you will need to register with the site before you can do so. It is simply a case of entering the standard details such as name and address and you can then pay by most major cards including solo and electron which I know not all retailers accept.

As well as my velvet whip, I also purchased some shampoo and conditioner. I received a confirmation email about my order very quickly, and was surprised to see it would be sent in two separate deliveries. My order was placed on a Wednesday and I had expected to receive a confirmation email to tell me the parcel had been sent. I logged onto the site on the Saturday and found out that my parcels had been posted on the Thursday. I would have preferred to have had an email to tell me this, but it's not a huge problem. Both parcels turned up on the Monday morning.

I'm still not sure why they were packaged separately - I can only assume perhaps that they were dispatched from separate places - but both were packaged well. I was pleased that they were delivered by Royal Mail too, as when I'm not in Royal Mail just take the package to the depot to collect, whereas couriers tend to leave parcels with my neighbours - something that always worries me a bit because of where I live!

Overall, I am very pleased with my experiences of using this site and will use it again. The fact that they offer free delivery is one of the biggest bonuses of the site, and if you want higher end cosmetics and beauty products at a bargain price, I would certainly recommend this site.
