Through the cat-flap. Felix puts the ouch in Pouch

Advantages: 'Single serve' portions, less waste
Disadvantages: More expensive than tinned catfood

...of humour. Take, for instance, Felix Pouches. That was a good joke… Not.

As I’ve mentioned before, sometimes my human stops on the way home from work to buy some treats for me and Minna. I wait on the doorstep until she comes home, when I give her a ‘Nice to see you, is it dinnertime yet?’ miaow and accompany her in to see what she’s got in those shopping bags. I was a little bit surprised to see a new cat product earlier this week. ...
...12 POUCHES

Felix is shown holding a pouch with a picture of him on it (what a poser!), as well as the words ‘PURINA’ (this has a little red-and-white Grand Prix flag next to it, maybe Mr Wondercat fancies himself as the next Shoemiaowker), ‘felix’ in rather large letters (but they don’t see very well, do they, humans?), ‘in Jelly’ and a rather corny pawprint ‘TASTED AND APPROVED’ seal. I mean, does he taste every pouch? Bet he lives ... more

Clean bowl Cat-isfaction?

Advantages: Often quite cheap these days with multipack offers
Disadvantages: My cats have gone off it!

...2004: I don't know what Felix have done, but I have been struggling to get my cats to eat this lately! I rather suspect that the recipe has been changed, but certainly my cats have gone off it! I would still recommend it to anyone, as it is still good quality, but I guess sometimes cats just have their own tastes. Sheesh! --- "Now even tastier", says the wraparound label on the latest tins of Felix I've bought for my pampered pussies. And "clean ...
...try and get it! Felix if you don't know is a set of catfood products and playthings from Friskies Petfoods to enrich your cat's life. I'm concentrating here on their range of tinned cat foods. ~Felix in Jelly~ The "jelly" range has got to be their most popular range of tinned food. There are 20 varieties you can get, either singly or in multipacks. Flavours include traditional beef, chicken, tuna etc to more exciting ones like Sardine and Mackerel, ...

Five Star Felix

Advantages: Wide range of flavours and products
Disadvantages: Quite expensive, are all the products neccessary?

...happy to see tins of Felix as experience tells me these are always popular with my 'guests'. Felix is the brand I buy most often for my own cats as it is there preferred choice and there is a wide choice to look at. Who makes Felix? ================ Felix is produced by Friskies who also produce Go-Cat petfood. It is available at most major supermarkets, petshops and online pet retailers. What types of food do Felix make? ================================= ...
...The meat chunks in Felix are a generous size, even coloured and does not look grisly or with visible white fat which always looks off putting from my point of view but I'm not a cat - what would I know! The meat meals in gravy whilst not the cats favourite is often a welcome change, the meat chunks look of the same quality as those prepared in jelly, the gravy is always very thick, dark and rich looking. I find if I present this to my cats they more ...

It's as good as it looks - if you are a cat.

Advantages: Yummy Yummy we want more
Disadvantages: The cost

...YUMMY YUMMY Grotty FELIX AS GOOD AS IT LOOKS....SUCCULENT STEAKLETS As you can see from Grotty's account I have at last managed to wean her off her addiction to Whiskas Oh so fishy with Felix's premium pouches. So here goes with the review. PACKAGING............. The package is the standard cuboid shape with a picture of a tasty looking bowl of cat food. There is an easy tear stripalong the top of the box which rips easily. Not so good for lazy ...
...out from the top of the box so I need to take the box out of my cupboard to extract the pouches. There is information about the contents of the pouches, and contact details for Purina who manufacture this product. There are 12 pouches in a box. The pouches themselves are standard size and open easily with little notches either side to show you where to tear. WHAT'S IT LIKE............ Opening the pouch releases a very pleasant smell, so good ...

Yummy, yummy, Yummy..

Advantages: Plenty of variety
Disadvantages: Dubious ingredients?

...smell very tempting! Felix canned meat cuts in jelly -mmmm,my cats definitely prefer this to any of that Whiskas stuff! Available in 400g cans, the price varies from about 40p upwards depending where you buy it but the average supermarket price seems to be about 43p per can. I lose count of the number of varieties they do - tuna, chicken, rabbit, beef, duck & heart, turkey, lamb & turkey, duck & rabbit, salmon & trout, cod, mackerel & plaice to name ...

Some cats just don't know they're born

Advantages: nutritionally sound, my cats love it
Disadvantages: ridiculously extravagant packaging, extortionately priced

...and Razor - would eat Felix Foil Trays and NOTHING ELSE. Fair enough. Or that's what I thought until I got to the supermarket and found that this was just about the most expensive cat food they sold. So began my attempts to surreptitiously introduce the hitherto spoiled pets to cheaper, less extravagant meals. Alas, they had been used to the finer things in life and all other cat foods remained in their bowls to go rancid while the cats constantly ...
...I am resigned to buying Felix Foil Trays for ever more. So what's so special about them? First, the packaging. This cat food is not in tins but, as its name suggests, is in little gold-coloured foil trays with peel-off lids. Each contains 100g of food which according to the blurb on the tray is enough for the average cat for one day. Not for mine, however, who each eat one and a half trays per day. The food comes in two derivatives: meat or fish. ...

Rascal's Reward

Advantages: Inexpensive, my cats can't get enough of them, I assume they're delicious!
Disadvantages: Bit whiffy

I suddenly seem to have become flavour of the month ever since I discovered Felix Rascal’s Reward Meaty Sticks. No, not by hubby (although I have been tempted to feed him cat food more than once!) but by my two loveable moggies. Now, when I return from the mid week shop, I can practically guarantee that I’ll find two cats with heads wedged into carrier bags trying to unearth them. My two pussies (my babies!) are spoilt; I’m the first to admit. They eat the finest dried cat food as recommended by their vet and we cater to their every whim. If they sleep on my fave chair, I sit on the floor rather than disturb them! I’m the saddest of cat parents, I indulge them too often! The Felix sticks are their absolute favourite treats and they go down well with me too (not literally!) because they’re inexpensive ...

Review of Felix

Advantages: Good variety, good price
Disadvantages: Jelly can go liquid

Having quizzed my two 9 years old tom cats on their eating preferences, it transpires their favourite tinned cat foods are KiteKat and Felix!! They always prefer the Chubks in Jelly varieties, never having been keen on the 'meatloaf' type. KiteKat has recently added Sunflower Oil to the recipe of it's large range of cat food. This is beneficial for both the digestive system and the condition of their coats and skin, and, more importantly, they both love it! It has a good balance of jelly and meat chunks with a wide variety of flavours and smells rather tempting, even if I do say so myself. Price-wise it's in the mid-range with other such as Felix and Arthurs, and they are also a long standing manufacturer. I feel it's certainly one of the best currently available and both my cats endorse this opinion! ...

Review of Kitekat

Retardo is not fooled

Advantages: cheap enough
Disadvantages: cat refuses to eat it

In many ways, my cat is an evolutionary oddity. When most of the traffic was coming out of the primordial soup and developing intelligence, her ancestors obviously couldn't be arsed and just lounged around, basking in their own stupidity. Over the intervening millenia, such profound ignorance has become so removed from the everyday that it is often mistaken for genius. The incident with Retardo and Felix cat food being a case in point. On getting Retardo, I was very keen to exercise portion control and the little foil packets of Felix were well priced and lasted a day. Great. The foil lid could be pulled back over the food after opening thus keeping out flies and other undesirables until required. The current Mrs O and myself stocked up with 30 or so tins of varying flavours and thought ourselves considerate and thoughtful pet owners ...
