Is the product for you?
If you are suffering from neck strain and are fed up with your monitor but don’t have the money to fork out for a new one which has an adjustable height stand then this is the perfect solution for you, maybe you want the monitor just a bit higher so it looks better and so you can store things underneath instead of around the monitor then this is also the perfect solution for you. It supports up to 21” flat panel monitor’s, has a triangle design for a neater fit and for added strength, and has three height adjustments.

If you after something to shorten the height of your monitor then this is not the product for you as the can only make it taller.

The product in one
When purchased, the product comes readily built so there is no messing around at the start and it is ready to go straight out of the box. Taking it out of the box I noticed that the product itself is extremely light and checking the specifications I found that it only weighs 1.257kg, which is practically nothing, light enough to hold on one finger if you could find the balance. Putting the product to the test I put it on my desk and push down on it with my own hands just to see how strong it is, and unless you are going to put about 20kg on there, which no monitor will ever weigh, then this is going to do the job perfectly, it is very durable and has a solid build to it.

We used this base on our corner desk as it has a triangular shape and one of the reasons we chose this product. It looks great in the corner and saves us a lot of space. Putting our 21” monitor on to this support I got the family to come and see how they found it as we are at different height levels. It suited all of us and none of us had a problem changing the height as it is just a simple pushing of a button and extending it. The base offers three different levels of height, so children and kids will be at level 1, teenagers level 2 and adults will typically be at level 3. It does what it says on the box and helps prevent eye strain as it brings the monitor up to the perfect height which is comfortable to you, admittedly it would be better if you could slide it to the precise point that you wanted it instead of 3 different fixed points, but for the price and the quality of this product, I won’t complain. For those of you with laptops then you will also find that it has support for your laptop dock, which I haven’t yet tested.

The colours of this product are a neutral grey and black, so if you are quite decorative and like bright rooms then this might not be to appealing to you, but on a black desk it does look the part. And if you don’t like seeing the mouse or usb memory stick or hubs on the desk then they can all be slotted under the extra space under the monitor riser.

How does it compare to other Products?
There is better products on the market than this one, ones where you can have the height of the monitor to one that suits you precisely instead of having three different fixed positions, but these are usually a bit more expensive. As for durability this is definitely a long lasting product and will compete well with any.

Does the Product Achieve its Purpose?
The product achieves its purpose in providing a cheap monitor riser for the family, which can bring the monitor to eye level and help prevent any strain that might of otherwise been caused without this product. It is very strong so will definitely last a long time, and I would go as far to say that if looked after properly and cleaned regularly then this product could even last a lifetime.

How to Improve
To improve this product I would chance the height mechanism to one that can be changed to suit the user precisely and provide a further prevention against eye strain.
