Advantages: Minimal Weight Gain, Larger Breasts, No Mood Swings

Does what it says but becareful, the side effects can be painful!

Advantages: You won't get pregnant
Disadvantages: So many!! Difficult to remove, longer heavier periods, headaches, vomiting, bloating...

The implant was recommended to me by my GP because it lasts 3 years and you do not have to worry about remembering to take a pill daily. It does what it says,you wouldn't get pregnant. But Iike most contraceptives what works for someone, does not necessarily work for another person. Microgynon - My horrible three years.

Advantages: It stopped me from getting pregnant, it is an easy method of contraception
Disadvantages: Extreme mood swings, lack of motivation, increase of migranes, depression.

I began taking this pill when I was 18 as I went to the doctors to get on the pill. I wasn't aware at the time that there were so many different kinds of combined pill. I found the pill very easy to use and took it religiously, every day at the same time, without fail. (Which is the best way to get its full effectiveness). Review of Microgynon Contraceptive Pill

8 years on cerazette

Advantages: No periods for 8 years (fantasic!)
Disadvantages: Depression, 4 stones weight gain, mood swings, greasy hair, tiredness, zero libido.

Review of Cerazette Contraceptive Pill

The Mirena, maybe not to everyone's taste.

Advantages: Low maintenace and very reliable contraceptive method
Disadvantages: Strong side effects in my case
