No to the DEPO INJECTION !!!!

Advantages: no periods woohoo
Disadvantages: a ridiculous amount of wait gain and mood swings

Depa Provera, it works but a lot of disadvantages

Advantages: 99% effective, cant say fairer than that no period pains
Disadvantages: greasy hair, greasy skin, weight gain its all not very attractive!

I had the injection for two years instead of the contraceptive pill and it worked, cant fault that, i didnt get pregnant! It is given by injection into the bottom, one side one time and the next dose you need is given in the other side. It actually doesnt hurt very much at all, I think the natural padding we have there helps on that matter! Implanon works, but for all the wrong reasons!

Advantages: Prevents pregnancy, you don't have to remember to take pills
Disadvantages: Almost constant bleeding, No sex drive, Headaches, Mood swings, depression, Significant bruising

My experience of getting Implanon inserted

Advantages: No pill, no risk of osteoperosis, may stop periods altogether
Disadvantages: Periods change, headaches, acne, weight gain: look on official Implanon website for full list

I didnt see the anesthetic needle for this injection so I can't really comment on what it looks like, but in past experience, it always feels worse if you look. Not so marvellous..!

Advantages: Regular periods, and of course, still no kids
Disadvantages: nausea, mood swings, migraines

...those until I started taking Marvelon - a day, sometimes two taken out of my life. On the other hand though, they have kept my periods VERY regular, almost to an hour each month, and are a easy way of moving your period for example for holidays - something I miss a lot, being on the POP.
