It doesn't have wings!

Advantages: Easier, cleaner, more comfortable, too many to mention...
Disadvantages: Takes a little while to get used to - but it's worth it

...by the claims that the Mooncup was cleaner, cheaper and more environmentally friendly that other sanitary products and hurried to Google it as soon as I arrived home. I was immediately directed to a friendly and helpful website which explained how and why the Mooncup worked so well and (after a little scouting around the internet to read other opinions) I wasted no time in ordering one for myself. I'm sure anyone who is interested will look at the ...
...the product. The Mooncup costs around £18 but claims to replace other products completely and lasts for several years so it is great value for money. It arrived swiftly, packaged in a little cloth bag for storage and with a small instruction booklet. Insertion and removal is fully explained in the booklet, with helpful diagrams, but it does take a bit of getting used to (remember that first time you tried inserting a tampon?). I'd definitely allow ...

Lilets.. not a patch on Tampax!

Advantages: Expands widthways, cheaper than tampax, comfortable.
Disadvantages: Applicator is rubbish, wrapper flimsy.

...thought so I opted for Lilets Super Compact Applicator. That is the first new feature. Lilets now do applicator tampons, as previously they didn't. I have no idea of how well the non- applicator ones perform as I like nail extensions too much... and well you do the rest! The box was small and about a good £1 cheaper than Tampax- although I think they were on special at the time. In the basket they went. So the day came. I opened the pack and the ...
...fear of tampons sliding out. Lilets have a very key positive aspect- they expand widthways! This means once they are in they are properly IN! All in all, my next purchase may possibly be of Lilets non applicator tampons. Cheaper still, and hopefully have all the positive aspects. Maybe I may even try the Asda freestyle tampons.. :) ...

Ladylike and Elegant

Advantages: Great little tins
Disadvantages: The tins are really just a gimmick

...did - until I saw Moxie tampons sitting on a shelf in Superdrug . The box stood out right away - Striped in various shades of pink, with Moxie on the front in an elegant font, and a little black ribbon. Opening up the box were two small but perfectly formed metal tins, decorated in the same fashion as the box, with smart black lids. Each tin holds 8 non-applicator tampons, individually wrapped. I purchased regular flow tampons, but they are available ...
...clear plastic wrapper twists off easily, and these tampon have a very soft smooth exterior and nice long strings. Inserting them is easy, perhaps a little easier than my normal brand due to the smoothness of the coating, and they felt comfortable to wear . The tampons come with the usual instruction leaflet with warning about hygiene and TSS. They were just as absorbant as the normal tampons I use, and I definitely had no problems with them . And ...

Comfort

Mooncup - just fantastic

Advantages: saves money, nothing to carry round, better for environment
Disadvantages: takes a bit of getting used to

...not? The Mooncup: The mooncup is a little rubber cup with a ‘tail’ on it which you insert into your vagina as an alternative to a tampon. It takes a while to get used to where is the best place for it to sit inside, and possibly a while longer to get used to removing it without making a mess, but once you grasp these things its actually easier to use that a tampon. I say this because when you are out you don’t need to have anything with you, all ...
...all my friends I’ve suggested mooncup to have felt the same way – we find its cheaper, easier and more environmentally friendly (although if we’re honest it’s the first two points that we love it for most) The only thing is that you do need to be fairly comfortable with yourself to use it – if you get squeamish using an applicator tampon this is probably not for you as you need to be able to feel inside yourself to use it. I have worn mine swimming ...

A Compact review of Tampax Compak

Advantages: Compact, bright packaging, Range of Absorbencies
Disadvantages: Plastic tubes, No Super Plus Extra

Tampax have a come a long way from the ones available when I had my first period some 25 years ago. My memory of early applicator Tampax was two carboard tubes with no rounded tip that were very awkward to to insert so I switched to non-applicator Tampons with thier kind round tips, but that's all changed now with regular Tampax with it's cardboard tubes and rounded tip and Tampax Compak with it's plastic rounded end tubes. So here is my little review ...
...with the usual Tampax blue with a splash of colour which is absorbency specific. Purple = Lites Yellow = Regular Green = Super Orange = Super Plus Inside the box you get a Guide to Tamax Compak and a warning on TSS and a full list of symptoms. The tampons themselves are in bright coloured packs to match their absorbency rating once inside the wrapper you find a small plastic applicator again coloured to suit absorbency. To Be able to insert the tampon ...
