Advantages: Great all round performance, value for money. Disadvantages: Some have an earthing fault
The FenderFrontman15 R is a fantastic peice of starting kit. Highly recommend above the 15G it offers all your major tweeks needed to get a good sound. The ability to switch to and fro drive mode, means you can have your staright forward aucoustic sound then hit the button to apply all your settings from: Gain, treble, middle bass and reverb. These are good all round setting where I myself have managed to acheive something close to what Eddie Van Halen puts out. This amp features one Input, which as a starter amp is all your ever going to need, space for headphones allthough youl need an adaptor for your regular household headphones, and also an Aux input! Very handy this allows you to plug in say your ipod to play along to!
Overall the Frontman15 R is a great amp and will cater for almost all levels as a house amp or even small ...
Advantages: Small and practical, Aux input, Sound produced is loud and of high quality Disadvantages: Weak materials used in build and tacky, plastic emblem.
I originally bought this amp as a small personal practice amp but It often has extended to be used in ensemble practice for both Bass, Electric Guitar and Acoustic Guitar and on one occasion, a live gig.
The amp produces a rich timbre which is only typical of every fenderamp and is often reminiscent of blues rock and would be the perfect step into guitar playing for the beginner and would also suit the more experienced guitarist as this allows them to practice intimately at low volume as the timbre does not faulter.
The amp also an AUX input which could allow, say a busker to play their backing track whilst they play their guitar over or to play over your favourite tracks personally with better sonic equalisation and help you learn them.
The amp is the perfect size considering it's role as a practice amp and looks very attractive ...
Advantages: Perfect for the beginner, great clean tone, 3 band eq. Disadvantages: Distortion circuit not the greatest, no reverb
I bought a Fender Bullet 15 amplifier when I wanted an amp with a good clean tone. The salesman at Sam Ash in NYC took me immediately to the Bullet 15 and I was not disappointed. I play almost exclusively in the bedroom of my apartment and the Bullet fit perfectly. It was loud enough with its distorted tone if I wanted to shake the walls but its real value is in its clean tone. It is the classic Fender clean tone. The amp has 3-band equalization to adjust the sound to your liking. For an amp that cost about $100, you can't go wrong if you want a great clean tone in a small package. However, if you want distortion, I wouldn't recommend this product. The Fender distortion circuit is not the best, if you are looking for distortion, look at Marshall or Laney. But for clean tone and a great price for a starter amp, you can't go wrong ...
