Advantages: Great looks, decent volume Disadvantages: Volume control, clean tone controls
't suit everyone's needs. I managed to get a great grungy tone out of it.
The distortion channel (as with many other solid-state amps I have seen) hums quite a lot. This isn't really a problem when playing live, but for recording is a bit of a nightmare.
I mainly use an effects chain through the clean channel, so the lack of decent EQ on this channel was a bit of a dissapointment, but the two controls are responsive, and there's plently of bass and treble there for you to dial-in.
The most annoying problem with this amp, as mentioned by Paolo1, is the sensitivity of the volume controls. Virtually all of the volume change occurs from 0-1, so you need a REALLY steady hand to get control over it.
The amp doesn't come with a footswitch, but the two-button unit that can be bought from Fender is a good upgrade, switching channels, and also ...
Advantages: Vibrant small town with lots of charm Disadvantages: Surrounding area being rapidly developed
For decades, small American towns have been dying out as housing developments and sterile, sprawling shopping centres built on the outskirts of once-vibrant communities have come to dominate the landscape. Princeton, New Jersey, a picturesque town of about 25,000, located half-way between New York City and Philadelphia, has, however, escaped this fate. This makes it a worthwhile destination for anyone visiting or passing through the state.
AROUND TOWN
SHOPPING
A visit to Princeton begins at Palmer Square, the town centre. Here and all along the nearby Nassau and Witherspoon Streets is an impressive range of clothing, specialty and gift shops. Several small boutiques specialise in men's, women's and children's apparel from casual to formal, while a number of well-known chains like Ann Taylor, Talbots, Gap, Banana Republic and J ...

Pauls.' It was like entering an Aladdin's cave for me really. Then I saw the Fender?! it was an acoustic and it was hanging there saying 'Play me, Borg, play me.' I slowly walked over and with a shaking hand I touched the strings.

Manufacturer's product description
The Fender Princeton Recording-Amp offers all of the great tone and dynamics of the original, plus several modern studio-friendly features. The Fender Princeton Recording-Amp\'s all-tube preamp, power amp and reverb circuitry is based on the classic 65 Princeton Reverb, and, with 15 watts and a 10 Jensen speaker, it provides spanking vintage tone and enough output for small gigs and rehearsals. The trans-impedance power attenuator lets you crank up the amp for full output tube overdrive and set the speaker volume as low as you want (even silent for headphone use)! Other features include two classic onboard stomp box effects (overdrive and compression), genuine tube-driven Fender spring reverb by Accutronics, headphone output, speaker emulated line output with level control and ground lift, speaker output jack (internal speaker may be disconnected for use with other 8-ohm enclosures, professional FX loop and four-button footswitch. The Trans-Impedance Power Attenuator (U.S. Patent # 6,816,009) allows players to crank up the amp for full output tube overdrive; then set the volume of the speaker as low as desired-even SILENT for headphone use! Unlike other attenuators, the lively feel and \bounce back\" dynamics of the speaker are reflected back to the tube amp and the player\'s hands. This exclusive circuit may be completely bypassed when not needed. The Fender Princeton Reverb Amp of the 1960s, though small, light and moderately powerful, produced giant tube tone. In the 70s and beyond, it earned a rep as the quintessential studio recording amp, and original Princeton Reverb amps are highly sought after in todays vintage market as collectibles and as a wise choice for creating great tube tone in a small space.
