I got this DVD player as a birthday present last December. I find it very handy as frequently I make long train journeys and watching films is the best way of passing the time. A two hour journey can seem more like half an hour! However, I don't know how useful this product would be if I didn't use it for these train journeys. It could be used for car journeys maybe, but probably wouldn't do any favours for those who get car sick.

As I have never tried out another portable DVD player, it is hard to compare it. The battery is detachable, and lasts about 2.5 hours, which I think is about average. It does need charging for approx 5 hours beforehand though which is quite annoying. With the battery attached the dvd player is quite heavy, although I'm still able to carry it in a rucksack along with all my weekend clothes! I think this is quite a new technology and hopefully they will work out a way of making lighter batteries soon!
Another weird and annoying thing is when the battery is being charged the DVD player is inactive and you can't watch films. So you better hope your film is not more than 2.5 hours long! Or you could just use the mains power.

The thing that I find most annoying about this dvd player in particular is the sound level. Bear in mind that people are likely to use this product whilst on a train or in a car where there is a lot of background noise. I have normal hearing yet when I use the headphones I have to have the sound at the highest level in order to hear it properly on the train. This really should have been sorted by better piloting during development. I am considering buying new headphones with a sound amplifier. If using the built in speakers the sound level is OK but the quality isn't as good.

The picture quality is not as good as a normal dvd player, but then I wouldnt expect it to be, and the screen is about the right size.

I have never had any trouble operating this product, its very simple, and so far its not gone wrong - worked perfectly every time. It comes with a remote control which I can see no use for whatsoever.

The plus points are that its very handy (I'm really glad I got it). It looks nice and is cheap in comparison to other products.

Enjoy!
