I was fortunate enough to go on one of those "Ferrari Experience" days at the Thruxton circuit recently. To be honest I wasn't too sure what to expect, visually the 355 is superb, the car exudes presence, class and quality. Entering the car via the massive Coupe door you are presented with a very wide drivers seat and nice relaxed drivers position.
Considering the price tag the interior is more focused on the functional ... ...let down compared with the exterior.
Starting the car and fliping the throttle rewards you with a very bassy thump thump reminicent of a Harley Davidson - you can feel that this car is something very special.

Entering the car via the massive Coupe door you are presented with a very wide drivers seat and nice relaxed drivers position.
Considering the price tag the interior is more focused on the functional side rather than luxury which was a bit of a let down compared with the exterior.

Driving off, and around the first corner the car exudes power and confidence but to be honest i was somewhat disappointed that it didn't seem quite the wild animal that i had believed it to be. As the driver you have total control on the road, if you hit that throttle the car is there before you can think it, in this masterpiece of engineering speeds seem warped - you feel that you are doing 50 around a corner when in actual fact you are doing closer to 80. The only disappointing thing about the cars performence is the downforce element - you have 380bhp on the rear two weels and if you hit that throttle harder than intended the car just doesn't have the traction to grip the road. In summary I was expecting a wild animal, I got a Thoroughbread race horse.
It shouldn't have an Excellent rating I know but I'm in love!
having recently taken a spin in this car - a friend of mine recently bought a 1997 model i can only describe it as awsome!!!! the noise of the engine booms through the cabin and i have never seen as many heads turn as we travelled through the town centre! although it was wet when we went out my friend still managed to get it up to the red line and the engine was screaming-better than a woman screaming during sex - honest!! i have always admired ferraris ...

...which is redder than red. Sell the kids - sell the house - leave the wife. Go out and buy yourself a Ferrari 355. The engine has such a swet note and when you get it up there to 10 or even 11 thousand revs it just thumps sheer power. ...

Advantages: Smooth and fast. Disadvantages: "Eates" a lot of fuel!
Well, I first met a Ferrari when my friend bought one. His dad owns EA Sports. My friend came over, picked me up and we went for a cruise. Man, was that a sweet car! People were looking at us saying: "Wow!"
This car I think was sweet because it was so smooth, it does not take a lot of fuel, and it's really fast!! When you sit in that kind of a car, you feel like your in heaven!
I suggest this car for people who like, fast and smooth cars or people ...

That wasnt of course the half of it ... the car looked beautiful and had a charisma and character about its road-presence that in my mind the BMW could only ever dream of having ... I did say I was a bit of a Jap Car nut didn't I? And Maybe I AM!!! ... In the film The Fast and The Furious the 'hero' cars were all Japanese save for the only German car in the film which lost its race to a Honda S2000 and of course the FerrariF355Spyder that got 'smoked' at the lights by 'Star of the Show' 3rd Generation Toyota Supra Twin Turbo.
The IS200 looked like it had the same sort of story to tell: Alledgedly Peppy Performance, good Equipment, Build Quality and of Course reliability .....
