Released on the world in 1984 to challenge lamboghinis countach the ferrari testarossa (red-head in Italian) is a mid-engined, rear wheel drive, 390bhp piece of classic pininfarina design. Its handling as you would expect from any ferrari is of the highest standard. It sat in the ferrari range as the smaller brother to the awesome F40 and in 1985 Ferrari built over 800 of them, mass production by their standards yet the waiting list just got bigger. In the late 80's such was the demand, that testarossa's were changing hands for around £250,000, around treble there original price tag. Today you can expect to pay around £25000 to £45000 depending on age and condition, although you mite want to consider that parts are gonna be a little bit pricey these days. But for your money you do get a car with a top speed of 181mph and 0-60 times of 5.6 seconds. I was lucky enough to spend a little time with one a few years back and it was of course a magical experience, but its definatly a car for a collecter, devote ferrari lover or a weekend play thing. As with all Ferrari's you just cant live with it every day, and you are always a little unsure of what people think of you on the roads, but if you're the type of person to buy one of these, you probably dont care. And rightly so.
Advantages: Supercar Speeds. Exotic Looks. Very Driver Focused. Disadvantages: Group 20 Insurance. Small rear seats. Regular 3kmile Services Needed.
come from the factory as leather 'bucket' seats which means even the passengers in the back are sitting close to the road. The driving position feels luxurious so you know this is a car that you would feel comfortable in for long distance journeys.
I service the RX7 myself and oil changes take no time at all. The oil filter is located in the top right of the engine bay which is easily accessible, and the sump plug is in a very good location too. Try having the passenger side jacked up a little more to help the oil flow out. Mazda recommend Mineral Oil only which is a lot cheaper than synthetic!
When you drive an RX7 you will find you can surprise 600+cc motorbikes, say bye bye to BMW M3s and even push FerrariTestarossa's up the road... i know I have! ;)
High petrol costs and group 20 insurance is wallet crippling if you are under ...

Advantages: owning a supercar, the thrill of driving, getting a great deal Disadvantages: costs, dodgy dealers, possible pitfalls
How much work you put into buying a car will indicate in reality, how much you can expect to get from it.
This is particularly true when you want something a bit different or a bit special. Over the years, I've been lucky enough to own some pretty nice cars. I've owned most of the cars on my hit list and will hopefully fill the list before I'm dead and buried.
Here is my guide for making sure you get the car you want, in the condition you want it and at a price you can afford.
1. Be reasonable about what you want. We would all love to own a bright red FerrariTestarossa or Enzo (if only for the trade in value!) but truthfully, even if you had been gifted the car, could you afford to run it? Could you afford the Group 20 insurance? The endless trips to the petrol stations? The incredible service bills? Look at what you need ...
Advantages: the most beautiful ferrari built (pre Enzo) since the 330 testarossa, + street cred and sex appeal! Disadvantages: MPG, but hey who gives a ****
For the first time since the 330 testarossa, ferrari has created this thoroughbread beauty, which inspires the motor loving public to look forward to the future creations of the number one in performance luxury vehicles. fortunately the motor company did not dissapoint with the Enzo following in the F40 and F50's footsteps, but back to the issue in question... 360. Its predecessor the 355 was a legend, even among ferraris, and is deserved of all its praise both material and on a performance basis. the 360 is superior in the looks department, but there is little advance in performance, not enough to merit award anyway. Despite the fact the car does not top 180 mph, when even its porsche turbo competitor passes that margin, for sheer class, looks and racing pedigree, the only choice is.. the 360 modena...
P.s. for the critics out there ...
