We have 2 children, 1 of which is still in a pushchair, the Doblo provides loads of cabin space and has a massive boot which takes push chairs, suitcases and just about anything else. Fiat Doblo 1.9JTD SX

Advantages: Plenty of space, economy
Disadvantages: Unladen rear suspension quality, wind noise

In the time I've had the Doblo, it has been very reliable. The main reason for my purchase of a Doblo was cost, I bought one cheaply second-hand. Being 17, the cost of insurance is a considerable factor, and I was able to find quotes around the £1500pa mark; cheap for a vehicle this size. Fuel consumption is also good - I average around 61mpg, and by setting the speed at about 45mph in 5th gear, I get 65mpg. Admittedly, most of my driving is outside ...

Fiat Doblo, very low quality, very poor service

Advantages: Space, good seating and driving
Disadvantages: Quality, very poor indeed (mechanically), and very poor service from Fiat

I have had this car now for 4 years and had nothing but trouble with it. It is of very poor quality. Within weeks of buying it I have had the fuel pup replaced, within months I needed a new window wiper motor. The car never starts properly from cold, although this was apparently solved with the new fuelpump. The doors jam open and all the hinges and rails were rusting after less than a year. Everything breaks on it because it is such lousy cheap ...
...it had fused solid. The garage was merely going to replace it (for hundreds of pounds). Recently my stating problems got worse (they never managed to fix it). They say it needs a new fuel pump at a cost of £1,500. I wrote to Fiat, but they have told me they are sorry but can;t help. My advice... despite it being roomy and has good seating, stay well away from this car and this brand. M ...

Review of Fiat Doblo 1.9D

Unreliable.

Advantages: Cute looking
Disadvantages: Nothing but trouble

I bought a second hand punto about 6 months ago and I have had nothing but trouble with it. Started off initially with something minor - breaks needed a bit of tweaking after they'd been maing a bit of a knocking sound. Then a couple of weeks later I find the suspension needs work before it can pass it's MOT. This on top of all the little 'quirks' like the door handles sticking up so the door mechanism wont shut the door properly until you fiddle ...
...take HOURS to demist the windscreen to name but a few. But to top it all off, last week the car wouldn't start, so had to get towed by AA to a garage only to find the engine is beyond repair and I need a new one! REALLY not impressed!!! Am looking to sell this one for a car I can rely on once it is repaired!! ...

Great little runaround

Advantages: Safe,Reliable,Roomy,Great to drive
