Car Reviews of Fiat »

Excellent, cheap car to run.

Advantages: A lot of space inside, high MPG
Disadvantages: Noisy inside

...after my experience with my fiat I can say that this opinion is completely wrong. On those three years I had no problem at all. My was on diesel engine so as long as I was checking oil and all cambels car runs with no problems. A lot of space is inside, very good visibility, and diesel use is also very very low. I was able to make more then 50 MPG in city traffic. I sold this car only because I want to tray something new. ...

Fiat Marea 1.6 weekend automatic

Advantages: Roomy, good loading space, nice to drive
Disadvantages: VERY expensive on parts and insurance :-(

...bought a 1997 R reg Fiat Marea 1.6 elx auto estate, with 70,000 on the clock. Prior to this I owned a Jaguar XJ6 and was shocked when the insurance company wanted MORE to insure this !!!! The Fiat, however, is very nice to drive with lots of creature comforts, although Fiat did not put a cd player in the car which I think is a bit of a shame. Although the car is only 6 years old there is already some signs of rust - on the roof and wheel arches ...
...starter motor was knackered and Fiat wanted around £170 for a new one (at first I thought the price must have been in Lira !!!!), but I managed to get a reconditioned one for about £100. Be warned Fiat parts are notoriously pricey :-( If you are planning on buying one, also ensure the car has the red master key, without it you may come a cropper if the car needs anything electrical to be tested ! Apart from the above shortcomings, the car is roomy ...

Dont, just dont!

Advantages: Fabulous engine, thats it!
Disadvantages: Pretty much everything else!

My Fiat Marea 2.0 5cyl 20v ELX enchanted me with its fabulous engine, pleased me with its frugal average of 32 mpg, soothed my fevered brow with the aircon and comfy seats, made my left leg ache with the too high set clutch pedal, terrified me with its instablity over 75 mph, and made me wonder why there was only a few revs between 4th and 5th gear, so the engine boomed on the motorway and the fuel consumption dropped to 26 mpg, I bought this car ...
...18 month later with 52k on the clock for £750, having spent £1400 on a service, cambelt change ( you have take the engine out, same if clutch goes), repairs, and 4 new tyres, so thats a loss of £2650 in 18 months. Ive had 4 Fiats and loved them all, except the Marea. DONT DO IT! ...

Sporty styling, great engine and bags of room!

Advantages: Decent performance, reasonable load capacity and sporty looks.
Disadvantages: Poor fuel consumption & the rear seats are rather cramped

...a 2nd hand estate car, Fiat wasn't the first manufacturer that sprang to mind. However thanks to a simple eBay search (any estate within 100 miles under £2000) I unearthed a much overlooked car that I had never even heard of. The low price tag of £1100 for a T (99) registered car with 79,000 miles seemed like a bargain so after a quick test drive I brought the car and was soon cruising back up the M6 in my latest acquisition, first impressions were ...
...5-cylinder engine found in the Fiat coupe the car is surprisingly quick (for a large estate car), 0-60 in around 9.5 seconds and a top speed of 130mph. The HLX model is well speced with 4 electric windows, ABS, driver airbag, electric sunroof, front fog lights, alloys, remote central locking, immobiliser, alarm etc..... Load space is also relatively good but not on par with a Volvo, unlike a traditional estate where the boot meets the bumper the ...

Fiat Marea Weekend TD100SX

Advantages: space handling economy looks
Disadvantages: none obvious

I bought this car to replace my previous Tempra Weekend as it had given me tremendous value for the last 4 years. It was an ex-company car just 3 years old with 69,000 miles and FSH. It cost me £3,900 + about £50 for a mirror glass (cracked) Aerial (missing) filler cap (latch broken). I fitted the alloys and wider lower tyre from the Tempra which improved the handling and road holding. So for under £4,000 I have a good looking, good handling, comfortable ...
