Ideal first car, small and easy to drive

Advantages: fun&esay to drive, economical, small but spacious, great city car
Disadvantages: small boot, engine not so powerful

I purchased a Fiat Panda special edition Mamy (Dynamic 1.2 in orange) in May 2009. This is my first car, and I was looking to buy a car that would be economical to run, comfortable enough for small journeys, easy to drive and park, practical and affordable. Essentially a car that would suit a young city dweller with no family and a moderate need for a motoring vehicle. The Panda fulfilled all these criteria at a very reasonable price (£6300 new). ...
...that, in spite of its small dimensions, the car has 4 doors and the back seat is reasonably comfortable for two adults to sit in. Other cars of similar size or price range, did not. I find the 4 doors extremely convenient whether to put the shopping in or to host a friend or two when travelling around. Also the back seats can fold flat, turning into a very large boot which I find very convenient to put luggage in when going on longer trips (or camping) ...

Perfect Panda

Advantages: Everything!
Disadvantages: Small boot, wish it had a little bit more power

I love my Panda. I have had this car for nearly three years and I love it just as much as the day I brought it new. So much so that although my husband offered to buy me a new car recently I couldn't find anything that was worth giving in my Panda. Why my obsession? ...I changed that to a CD player and I am happy as larry. It also has a small boot, but with the seats down it gets in tons. The engine is a bit small, but thats why its cheap to run. In all I can't think of a good argument why it is not a lovely car! ...

Fiat Punto - The perfect first car?

Advantages: City Button, Lots of boot space, good handling, comfortable, cheap
Disadvantages: small car

I bought my fiat punto second hand, the previous owner bought it from new and has used it whilst in England, and was selling it as he was returning to his own country. I got my car for a very good price, and I still have this car now. It's sitting on the drive waiting for my to drive to work tonight in it =] - Why I like the Fiat Punto - - The shape is nice - It runs very well - It has a CITY BUTTON! =] Which makes the power steering very light ...

Fiat Panda 1.3 Multijet Dynamic Diesel

Advantages: Excellent fuel economy, £35 a year to tax, very cheap to insure.
Disadvantages: Perhaps a little more performance would be good.

I have owned the Fiat Panda 1.3 Multijet Dynamic (with the optional Climate Control) since new (18 months so far). And have covered 49000 miles. This seems like a lot of miles in such a small car - but I can assure you all that this little car can handle the miles no problem at all. It still drives nice and smooth, and easily returns approx 55 - 65 miles to the gallon with a mixture of school runs, shopping and long motorway runs (It gets a 300 mile ...
...months it has also taken all three of us to Hungary twice ! Thats a 2500 mile round trip without incident. The first run to Hungary took 15 hours from Dunkerque and the second was about 16 hours. So far we have had one set of tyres all round, new front brake pads, new rear shock absorbers and coil springs and one front suspension unit (all under warranty). An amazing car with a real depth of abilities.

Advantages: Pennies to run, safe, excellent handling, cool image and a fantastic car!
Disadvantages: Finding a decent one that isn't riddled with rust.
