seicento sporting, full review
Advantages: cheap to buy, surprisngly quick, great fun, lots of character, good economy Disadvantages: some poorly maintained ones about, hanbrakes are pathetic, poor rear space
I own a 1999 Fiat Seicento Sporting, and have owned this particular car now for 8 months, before it, i owned a cinquecento sporting for a year. and i am a member of the owners club, so this is my review of near 2 years of 'cento ownership and living with the car and its quirks.
first off, the size of the car, now it is very small, we all know that, but there is a surprising amount of space in the front. don't believe people who say you won't fit ... ...nonsense, i am 6ft 2 and have plenty room to spare. i just need to make sure i don't have any passengers sit behind me that are over 4ft tall!, so bare that in mind if you're looking at one, if you carry more than 2 passengers, its maybe not quite the car for you. if you dont have so many passengers to consider, then great!, how much luggage do you carry? if you need to move wardrobes, you'll need a bigger car!, though saying that, the boot space ...

A mainly town car
Advantages: A good all round runabout or first car Disadvantages: Not really suitable as a family car
...a second hand 1999 registered Fiat Seicento SX with 17000 miles on the clock-colour Metallic Morocco Red. Being a widower I needed a reliable small car, mainly for local driving.
It has served me well with the usual wear and tear replacements of such things as exhaust, tyres etc. It has proved to be, in my opinion, quite a robust car. In fact 4 years ago I drove to Scotland, a distance of over 300 miles of motorway driving and amazingly it's 989cc ... ...70 plus miles per hour subject to traffic conditions.
Sun-roof, central locking, electric windows are plus items as is Insurance Group 1 and petrol economy-essential these days.
Mainly used locally and short runs of about 100 miles, enough to take me from A to B it has proved a very economical car.
The boot is small and I would not consider it suitable for a family of more than one child. One other criticism is that the pedals a rather close together. ...

Unreliable.
Advantages: Cute looking Disadvantages: Nothing but trouble
I bought a second hand punto about 6 months ago and I have had nothing but trouble with it.
Started off initially with something minor - breaks needed a bit of tweaking after they'd been maing a bit of a knocking sound. Then a couple of weeks later I find the suspension needs work before it can pass it's MOT. This on top of all the little 'quirks' like the door handles sticking up so the door mechanism wont shut the door properly until you fiddle ... ...take HOURS to demist the windscreen to name but a few.
But to top it all off, last week the car wouldn't start, so had to get towed by AA to a garage only to find the engine is beyond repair and I need a new one! REALLY not impressed!!!
Am looking to sell this one for a car I can rely on once it is repaired!! ...

Please read before buying!!
Advantages: SAFE, SECURE, FUEL EFFICIENT, CHEAP INSURANCE, GREAT SPEC, ROAD HANDLING. Disadvantages: BOY RACERS, DONT TREAT THIS CAR WITH DISRESPECT..
I have owned a fiat punto 1.2 active sport now for nearly 2 years and i have got to say they are brilliant little cars but the only things that let them down is they are known to be faulty and i have experienced problems but that was only from mistakes i have made myself but in my opinion i would say if you treat these cars with respect then you will get the same back the same as most cars,
i think that anybody that is trying to make the decision ... ...are they worth the money how many miles per gallon and more money saving questions well in all honesty i can say that mine does 48.5 MPG and that is very good for a little car, they are very tidy, good for a first car or anything more, enjoyable and comfortable to drive, and also very very safe encluding airbags and secure headrests, security wise mine is brilliant it has a very good standard alarm system built in and that will more than likely find ...
