Advantages nice medium run around car
Disadvantages the problems it suffers from
Many people will rant and rave about how great the fiat brava is as a car but i would like to make car buyers and owners aware that they do suffer from certain problems.
I have had my fiat for almost a year now, i do love it, no denying that, its a great car in that it looks nice, is a good size, has good petrol consumption and is great for reasonable trips....but it has its flaws which i have learnt recently are common in fiat bravas. Some not so serious problems, the car has a tendency to steam up, annoying when you get in the car in the morning. With the hot hair the from and rear windscreens will get clear but all the door windows steam up, especially the rear door windows. They also suffer from being sealed properly so when driving about it sounds like a window is slightly open (leading to the condensation/steamed up windows) and so the car will be 'damp' which isnt a problem during the summer but in winter, means you can actually get ice on the inside of your windows.
Now more seriously, the catch on the bonnet of the car has a tendency to seize up and so means that when you release the bonnet from inside the car, it doesnt go onto the safety catch to prevent the bonnet from flying up in wind. To stop it seizing up, every month or so spray some WD40 on the catch and give it a wiggle to loosen it. The cars front exhaust pipe, due to the build of car, suffers after a while of driving by developing a hole. The car can still drive but means it will go through petrol a lot faster as there will be air getting into the mixture. This leads to a costly repair in the region of £150 but needs to be done as you will fail your MOT as you are polluting more. The headlights over time also go slightly out of line so will need to be realigned once or twice a year. With all these problems, just keep an eye out so you can catch them early.I guess all cars are prone to their own problems, not just the fiat brava and it is still a nice car to own and i'm glad i got it but just be weary about the car and get it checked regularly so that no serous problems arise.
Happy driving!

From a fellow fiat owner I would like to thank you for warning other owners of its little 'qwirks'. I'm sure like me you love paying through the nose for the special 'Italian' only parts!!
