I have owned my Fiat Bravo for just over 2 years now and bought it second hand on a Y plate. Unfortunately Fiat seem to have a bad reputation- I think due to their older cars, you should ignor this as the newer cars are excellent. I have done 50000 miles since I had the car (in 2 years), and the only parts I have replaced are the exhaust ( standard wear and tear), and a little electronic box called the coil pack (the old car equivalent to the points in the distributor ) as the new cars have electronic ignition. Even when these parts went the car never actually broke down- it has never been off ... more

I came across this car by chance once while on a driving lessons years back. I had a really cool driving instructor who took me scoutin for cars while on my lessons. He said he knew someone who was selling Their fiat bravo, I told him I had about 8-900 to spend on a car. So he took me to this house and outside was parked the bravo. A nice purply blue colour, alloy wheels and some fancy windscreen wipers. I liked it being a young guy and decided there and the. I wanted it, so we took it for a little spin around the block. Yeah, seemed good. Got back to the house and my driving instructor got ... more

Advantages Advantages Cheap, Stylish, Economical, Low Insurance, Reliable, Seemingly Well Built

Disadvantages Disadvantages Depreciation, Slightly Underpowered, Non-Current Model

I've had my Fiat Bravo since new, and touch wood, have had no problems with it so far. It's just had it's first MOT and passed with flying colours. It's been a very reliable first car for me, looks like it could go a lot faster than it can, and is a low insurance group (6 I believe). The 1242 cc engine gives enough power (82bhp) to get up to reasonable speeds without too much trouble, and only with 5 people and luuggage in the car does it sometimes feel a little underpowered and sluggish. I had the Grundig multidisc CD changer factory installed which makes a great 6 speaker stereo, and so far ... more

I bought my Bravo new in Autumn 1999, so got one of the revised models, which has a few benefits over the original Bravo. This car was "European Car of the Year 1996", and certainly at the time was very highly thought of. More recent cars have eclipsed it of course, but that's down to progress - at the time the Bravo ruled! The 1.2 engine was taken from the Punto Sporting, and replaced the slow and thirsty 1.4 engine. Thank goodness I got the revised model because the 1.2 engine is great. It's only a little bit slower than my Dad's 1.8 HLX model, but I get up to 500 miles out one tank of ... more

I bought my Bravo 1.2 back in October 2001. Since then it has performed fantastically besides a minor problem with the passenger seat not folding forward. It has taken me all around Europe inluding its mother country (Italy). As you may well know the Bravo is currently not being built anymore. Does it make the car a collectable??? Obviously not!! However, if you are in the market for a second hand model then consider the Bravo if you see one going at a good price. I purchased mine for 7500 and got a 6 disc cd palyer thrown in. Fiat Buckhurst Hill were really friendly and their service ... more
