Advantages Advantages All the extras required, Not too many on road to make it common.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Doesn't hold it's price as well as German cars

I bought myself this car for myself on the occasion of my 21st birthday. The good looks and excellent reviews the car received when it first came out in 1996 was foremost in my mind when I was looking at cars. Being young and the insurance playing a large part in the kind of car I bought I thought about Peugeot 306's, VW Golfs and the new Seat Ibiza. But when I got into the Bravo, I knew this was the car for me. I went for the 115 as it has a 1.8litre engine and I do heavy motorway driving. However, the insurance was only classed as a group 8 which is the same as the peugeot and a lot cheaper ... more

Advantages Advantages Affordable Sports car!! (Cheeky but true)

Disadvantages Disadvantages Fiat Dealers are a pain in the ass (Bad Experinece)

I walked into the fiat dealership; a little disgruntled that I could not find the money for the brand new 206 or the mint 306 which had both become the object of my desires. For the hell of it I decided to have a look at the Punto Sportings which left me stunned to find out that they are priced at around £8000! £8000 for a body kit and some fancy silver finishes, after all, a 1.2 engine hardly deserves the title 'Sporting'. If you have one I'm not trying to offend you, don't get me wrong, I like the look of them, but I'm glad I opted for the second hand Bravo. I had always liked the shape of ... more

Advantages Advantages Good looks, lots of space, fast & fun to drive

    Disadvantages Disadvantages poor dealer network

The bravo HLX is a hidden gem overlooked by many, It`s standard equipment is very good with little touches of luxury you simply wouldn`t expect to find on a car in this class, like the heated front seats, something i found very usful on cold winter mornings making the trip to work that bit more bearable. The standard ABS brakes, air bags and side impact bars make a very safe and in the event of an accident there is an auto fuel cut-off valve for fire safty. On older models before 1999 an electric sunroof is standard after this it`s replaced by air conditioning also electric windows,e/heated and ... more

Advantages Advantages Cheap, lively engine and handling, good brakes.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Space is not as good as others in class.

I have owned this 1999 Fiat Bravo 1.8 HLX for about 1 year. I bought it for £1000 with 60K miles on the clock and a full service history. I have covered 15K miles. The car is very well equipped with electric windows, mirrors & sunroof, heated seats and a decent stereo. The interior is functional if not very exciting, and reasonably spacious although the headroom in the back isn't too great - due to the sloping roof. The 113bhp engine performs well, accelerating briskly and making overtaking comfortable. The car handles well in all conditions although it does understeer, especially in the wet ... more

Advantages Advantages A lot of car for your money, agile handling and lively engines

    Disadvantages Disadvantages none

I own a 1997 fiat bravo and would recommend it to anyone. It has distinctive sporty looks and handles very well.It has a very punchy engine and insurance is fairly reasonable as it is only group 8.It has all the extras such as power steering, electric windows, alarm and immobiliser as standard. Servicing costs are reasonable and the body is galvanised to keep the rust at bay.I have had a few minor electrical problems with it but nothing costly. The car is very sturdy to drive but i have been told it scored low in the european crash tests. I paid £3200 this year for it and at the time i couldnt ... more
