Advantages: Extremely comfortable car and easy to drive. Disadvantages: Fiat needs to have more publicity and servicein this country from Fiat company
Hi guys, I'm a dominican Fiat Marea user, in this country this car is not very common so people feel worried about the spare and maintenance because it uses to be very expensive based on the brand and something like that. but I really don't mind what people say, for example when I planned to get a car I decided to have an economic, comfortable, modern and less than 5 years of usage.

This car is great, excellent really easy to drive, this is my first car and I'm realy proud for the comments I received from my friends and parents and maintenance has been the same than a Toyota even cost. So if you have the oportunity get it buy and you won't regret "Fiat Marea 2004.
The most people in this tropical country prefer to have traditional vehicles like HONDA etc, but I know that this is a good car in the first week I got it, I heard comments from "car experts" referring to my Fiat but now they've changed their mind and when they get in to it they can feel the difference is an amazing experience.
Advantages: A lot of car for your money Disadvantages: Low image rating of Fiat saloons
As an owner of a Fiat Marea I feel compelled to let everyone know that this is actually (and some may say surprisingly) a great car. Ok it doesn't have much going for it in the way of street cred, but if it's comfort, value, reliability and a good drive you're after, it's worth considering this one.
It's a family sized saloon, with three 3-point seat belts in the back, so you can get three children in there, although three adults would be on the ... ...(I have managed to get a 6-year-old's bycicle in there as well as luggage for a week away!), which can be further increased by dropping the rear seat forward. The rear seat does split 60:40 (ish) so that you can still have a seat available and just expand one part of the boot into the back of the car.
It is a lovely car to drive, members of my family who have driven mine are all impressed. My friends who have been in the car with me are also suitably ...

Advantages: Cheap to run, Cheap To Buy, Lots Of Car For Your Money Disadvantages: Upholstery is a fur and smell magnet
...came across a 1997 (R) Fiat Marea Automatic 1.6 ELX - Seen the image and thought, compared to what else has come up this looks lovely!
So I read on, 6 months MOT, 2 months tax, electric windows, sunroof, mirrors, sport and ice mode functionality, only 45,000 miles on the clock… wow… what a bargain at just £500
So I bought the car, I thought it was too good to be true as it had all the luxury electrics and stuff, however 4 months on and I'm yet ... ...exactly the same as the fiat bravo and Brava, which means there are plenty cheap parts should you need them. The sound system in the car is nice, by default they have big speakers with tweeters on the rear shelf which gives it a nice sound. The only down sides to it which im not bothered about is the odd squeek, which is normal for a Fiat LOL ...

Advantages: Roomy, good loading space, nice to drive Disadvantages: VERY expensive on parts and insurance :-(
Earlier this year I bought a 1997 R reg FiatMarea1.6 elx auto estate, with 70,000 on the clock.
Prior to this I owned a Jaguar XJ6 and was shocked when the insurance company wanted MORE to insure this !!!!
The Fiat, however, is very nice to drive with lots of creature comforts, although Fiat did not put a cd player in the car which I think is a bit of a shame.
Although the car is only 6 years old there is already some signs of rust - on the roof and wheel arches which is a bit of a let down.
The car recently failed to start and being automatic I was unable to bump start it. The starter motor was knackered and Fiat wanted around £170 for a new one (at first I thought the price must have been in Lira !!!!), but I managed to get a reconditioned one for about £100. Be warned Fiat parts are notoriously pricey :-(

I have now had my Marea1.6 for about 16 months, and am still very impressed with the overall performance.
It was bought second hand for £7995, when the current price for the new model was in the region of £12000, so I thought the price was good.
The interior of the car is very comfortable, and more than spacious enought for the average family size - with my 2 little monsters and almost half the toys they own in the back, we can still have a comfortable ride.
I found the cubbyhole to be smaller than I would like, with only enought space for the logbook and not much more. Definitely room for improvement there.
The leg room in front and back is good - with all the adults in my family being around the 6foot mark, I should know!!
The boot space is sufficient for the normal grocery loads, and/or baggage for short holidays, but not ...
Advantages: Comfortable to drive. Roomy. Disadvantages: Very expensive to run. Spares difficult to obtain and expensive. Reliability questionable.
I bought my Marea second-hand from Stoneacres in Doncaster. From the outset, I have had numerous problems with the car. Many of these were sorted out by Stoneacres and I am grateful for the assistance given by their staff. However, since I bought the car in November, it has required 3 replacement injectors, 2 seat-belt buckles have failed, the rev counter works when it wants to and the windscreen wipers operate when I turn on the headlights. Some spares were difficult to obtain, therefore the repairs were delayed longer than average. The car is not economical with fuel and its powerful 16 valve engine means it is expensive to insure. Because of the adjustable driver's seat and steering column, it is ideal for disabled drivers (which is why I bought it). ...
