Fiat Panda 1.3 16v MultiJet

The 1.3 Multijet is a fabulous engine. We have had up to 69.9 mpg out of it although less in cold weather (but still 60+ mpg). It is as noisy as you would expect from a diesel when you first start her up but once she is going you wouldn't know it was a diesel. In fact its quieter inside than ... Read review

Marvellous Panda Multijet

Advantages: Exceptionally economical, Good handling and deceptively spacious.
Disadvantages: Might be a bit of a squash in the back, gear changing at lower speeds

The 1.3 Multijet is a fabulous engine. We have had up to 69.9 mpg out of it although less in cold weather (but still 60+ mpg). It is as noisy as you would expect from a diesel when you first start her up but once she is going you wouldn't know it was a diesel. In fact its quieter inside than my previous petrol car. Its cheap to insure and only £35 a year to tax - you can't ask for better. It comfortably does 60+ on the motorway with no problems although ...
...in hilly areas at low speeds.
The car itself is deceptively spacious. We have had passengers 6-foot plus comfortably in the front with plenty of head room. There is also enough room in the back although more would be better. The small dash-mounted gear lever is very easy to change and there is City handling, although we've never used it as its already easy to maneouvre. The boot looks small but I've found I can get plenty of shopping in it ... more

Fiat Panda 1.3 Multijet Dynamic Diesel

Advantages: Excellent fuel economy, £35 a year to tax, very cheap to insure.
Disadvantages: Perhaps a little more performance would be good.

I have owned the Fiat Panda 1.3 Multijet Dynamic (with the optional Climate Control) since new (18 months so far). And have covered 49000 miles. This seems like a lot of miles in such a small car - but I can assure you all that this little car can handle the miles no problem at all. It still drives nice and smooth, and easily returns approx 55 - 65 miles to the gallon with a mixture of school runs, shopping and long motorway runs (It gets a 300 mile ...
...months it has also taken all three of us to Hungary twice ! Thats a 2500 mile round trip without incident. The first run to Hungary took 15 hours from Dunkerque and the second was about 16 hours. So far we have had one set of tyres all round, new front brake pads, new rear shock absorbers and coil springs and one front suspension unit (all under warranty). The dealer is always very helpful and we cannot fault them for customer care. Oh, I nearly ...
