Having recently handed my little Saxo over to my little sister for her lessons and run around. Its time to look for a new car, So I came accross a really nice "Fiat Punto Active Sport1.2i 8v". Read below to find my opinion of this car so far.......
Performance~
This car is awesome on petrol, Obviously depending on the way its driven its averagin about 48ish MPG. ALthough not as responsive as the saxo was and requires higher revs in lower gears to do this, Another slight downside is the ride height and suspension set up as the car feels very high, and also as if it is going to roll when taking corners at speed.
Exterior~
The Active Sport variant of the Punto is in one word "sexy", Its got curves, and straight lines in all the right place. Again a slight draw back is the gap between the top of the wheels and the botton of the wheel arch, but thats nothing that cant be sorted with a good set of lowering springs. The standard Active sport definately finish of the look of this car.
Interior~
For a small car the is more than plenty of room, Being 6ft1 with my seat back the is still plenty of room for back seat passengers the boot has a good capacity to it. The sports seats are attractive and again help finish the look of this car, The standard cd player boes bledn in nicely, but due to lack of functionality i.e. the inability to play data discs or MP3's this has been replaced. The drivers seat has the ability to be adjusted up or down which comes in handy for the likes of my GF being 5"5' to raise the seat, she was also aided by the fact that the steering wheel can be adjusted for height aswell.
Value for money, I got this car (54plate) for 3.6k, with 18,632 miles on the clock, And I must say for the sheer fun of driving it it was worth every penny, thats not including the looks.
Reliability~
As such only having the car a week, Only one fault has been found that being a hole in the exhaust, but a quick trip back to the dealer and an hour later that problem was eradicated. I shall update if anything goes wrong......
Insurance~
19 year old male KY4 Post code Garadged over night 1 yr ncb Admiral = £409
Conclusion~ I love this car, I was reluctant to part with the saxo. But after only a week of driving I am glad I did.
Recodmendation~
If you like hatchbacks or are looking for a nice little run around car this car should certainly be considered, Whereas if you want a quicker/ more powerful car then I'd recomend you look elsewhere.
