My Sexy Italian Cruise Missile

Advantages: Cheap power, fun to drive
Disadvantages: Brutal power delivery, Fiat servicing costs

...flash of inspiration – the Fiat Punto GT met all of my requirements. This car really is a wolf in sheep’s clothing and is heavily underestimated by many, and overlooked by most.

Made from 1994 (L) until 1999 (V), the Punto GT came in three versions – all being very similar, save some cosmetic changes and minor engine modifications. Powered by a 1372cc SOHC 8v 1.3 bar (18.8 psi) turbocharged and intercooled engine, ...
...laid out, although very plasticy. Fiat have made an attempt to provide sports seats, although in my opinion, they don’t match the power of the car, and fail to provide adequate side support. You never really feel as though you are being held into the seats effectively, which can make for an uncomfortable ride whilst cornering at speed. Although the seats are very comfortable, they are made of cloth, which can feel a little rough on bare skin. ... more

Fiat Punto 1.4 16valve

Advantages: Roomy, great looking, reliable and solid
Disadvantages: too big to really be a SMALL car (parking in cities), too pricey for good ones.

I recently bought one of these for town and a vectra for work (it was CHEAP) - neither of which I would buy again. The Punto is great but just not as thrilling as it used to be in it's original guise. Too heavy and therefore unable to have a small peppy engine that is both cheap to run and yet still fun to drive quickly. The 1.4 (mine) comes close, the 1.4 turbo is great but insurance is too high and so is the asking price, the diesels just too much to run. Sadly, it's time to get either a Bravo 1.4 turbo (at least it's bigger and value for money) or a Suzuki Swift Sport - soooo good to drive and so cheap to run in every way. I really really like this new Punto and really wanted to give it 5 stars but it seems manufacturers can no longer make that elusive small, cheap, fun car nowadays. the Fiat 500 is way too much money, the C1 ...

Review of Fiat Grande Punto

Fiat Punto Grande 1.4

Advantages: City Button, Lots Of Space, Easy drive, Economic
Disadvantages: Gearbox delicate

Well, The Grande is exactly what it says on the tin. I bought the 1.4 Sport in January and can give nothing but praise for the car, although i'll be honest, buying a fiat was not my original choice. I was easily persuaded by driving my instructor's Grande. The drive is easy, the feel is comfort and the features pay a big compliment to the car. Not only do you feel good in this car, you look good, the new style is a vast improvement on the old style Punto. It's economic to run, filling your tank is cheap and lasts a good while. It also has an amazing city button which turns your car into a go-kart and makes parking the easiest thing in the world to do. The one and only downpoint is the gears are a bit delicate, too gentle and it is easy to miss it, but, when you get used to this and you adjust accordingly it never returns ...

Review of Fiat Grande Punto

Great little runaround

Advantages: Safe,Reliable,Roomy,Great to drive
Disadvantages: Not very good on fuel

I bought this car when the first 09 plate was out, It came with 7 miles on the clock and now has over 12k! It came with a years free AA assistance just invade anything went wrong (touch wood it hasn't yet). I bought this car because it was cheap and came with a 5star NCAP safety rating, as I do a lot of miles it is ideal. Prices range from £7000-10000 based on what specification you desire. Mine cost me £7200 for the 1.4 8v active sport edition. I am very happy with my purchase and would reccomend it to any one, don't let the old fiat name of being untrustworhy and unreliable fool you this is a splendid little car, and at such a bargain price probably the cheapest 09 plate hatchback out on the Market today! Good points- ? Reliable ? 5* NCAP safety rating ? Comfortable ? Large boot space ? Power steering Bad points- ? 40-50 mpg for a 1.4 ...
