Don't you want me baby??

Advantages: Cheap, Small, Powerful
Disadvantages: Small, Comfort

...my way to our local Fiat dealer, there on the forecourt was a 1.9JTD Eleganza. To cut a long story short, I went, I saw, I drove, my dad haggled, I bought!

Cost

I bought this car in April 2003, it was sat on the forecourt, already with a number plate and tax disc. The milometer read 12 miles when I first saw it and 22 when I bought it after a little test drive. The cost was £8995, which we whittled down to £8750. I believe ...
...Comfort

The Fiat Punto is nothing special in terms of comfort. The furthest I have driven in it without a break was to Taunton (about 160 miles), and when I got out I was a little stiff. I quite often find that I have to lean forward when driving to stretch my back out, even with a lumber support, height adjustable drivers seat and steering wheel, which is not something I have needed to do in other cars. All in all this car is most ... more

New Car - Low Price!

Advantages: Fuel economy, speed, comfort
Disadvantages: Red interior!

Just got a new Punto 1.9 JTD - what a wonderful car. The fuel economy is excellent, we can get upto 70mpg on a straight run. It is vey nippy, the acceleration is a dream and it is very comfortable. It easily seats 5 people, and my husband (who is 6'2") has loads of head room. It is almost like a large car to drive. One thing about price - I got 2,000 pounds off list price by getting an internet quote and taking it along to the dealer. They are ...

Fiat's best super-mini

Advantages: Frugal, punchy engine, good looks
Disadvantages: Wind noise, flimsy trim

I purchased my Punto 1.9JTD in July 2001 for £8500.00, not cheap for an ex-demo with 7000 miles on the clock, but hard to find at the time, It looked good in metallic silver with blue trim, with optional alloy wheels, and came well equipped with all the usual goodies plus 10 disc CD changer and up-graded Blaupunkt 6 speaker Hi-Fi. On the test drive I couldn't beleive how far diesel engines had advanced. The latest common rail direct injection engine ...
...immediately smitten. A short drive was enough to ensure a sale. I couldn't wait to get it home. Now,2 years on, I am still smitten. The interior space is excellent, it drives and handles as well as it looks, and its economy is remarkable averaging 42 mpg.The bodywork has suffered a few knocks, but has stood up well to hard use.A really useful feature is the trip computer giving all sorts of information on economy, elapsed time and various other items ...

fiat punto 1.9 turbo diesel

Advantages: turbo diesel - way cheaper than petrol! v comfy, all extras
Disadvantages: its gold!!! problem with power steering motors

2001 fiat punto - 1.9 turbo diesel my first ever car!!! only ever driven little vans before, so this is like luxury. mine is a top spec model, so air con, sunroof, heated windscreen, great sound system, city mode etc. only costs £40 to fill up, for now anyway! extremely easy to drive, very comfy. have never used the city mode yet as i've never needed to, very nippy car and if you put your foot down its great once the turbo kicks in. good sized ...
...even though its a small car it still feels quite roomy, way better than corsa's etc. interior's a manky grey colour, but its comfy so who cares! only problem we've had is with the power steering. a motor stopped working on it, so that was £300 to fix, but its not a new car. apparently this is a common problem. ...

Why I'm not fussed about the Focus

Advantages: Lots of them around. Cheaper now in the old shape
Disadvantages: Please see below

When I got rid of my Fiat Punto 1.9 JTD this time last year I was in the market for a slightly larger vehicle. I was having a love hate relationship with the back end of the Renault Megáne and the Citroen C4 was not released then (what it is about me and French cars I don't know!) although I thought that would be the ideal car. Nothing much was doing it for me (it's all about emotions when I buy a car) so we decided to go and have a look at Ford, in particular the Focus. We had heard great things about the Focus and it seemed only natural to go and see what they had on the forecourt. On arrival at Ford we were greeted with the sight of a Ford Focus Zetec 1.8 TDCi in silver with the climate pack for just over 10 grand (with 15K miles). We test drove the car and it's higher powered brother (the one with 115 horses as opposed to ...

I'd decided I'd had enough

Advantages: Near M25; A lot of choice
Disadvantages: Suspect servicing; Incompetent technicians; Poor aftercare

I recently purchased a one-year-old Fiat Punto 1.9 JTD diesel from Carland in Lakeside, Essex, which is about 10 minutes from the Junction 31 of the M25, near the Dartford tunnel. I liked and still like the car, and although they were willing to offer me a good trade-in price for my Ford Fiesta, I was very irritated by their high-intensity, pushy sales techniques, worse than I'd ever come across before. The test drive only lasted 10 minutes, it was far too short, and probably to do with the fact that they only leave tiny amounts of fuel in their cars; watch out for the speed camera as well. However, I enjoyed looking around all their flashy cars inside their modern, large indoor forecourt,- the only problem was that the cars weren't in any order, so it was hard to compare cars which were of the same type. They also let me wander around ...

AUDI'D RICHADA RATE THE A4 2.0 TFSI S LINE?

Advantages: Acceleration. Style. Build Quality.
Disadvantages: Power Delivery. Driving Position. Price. Equipment. Soulless. Fuel Consumption.

, can only be attributed to Audi?s interior designers, were it not for that fine interior, excepting the offset driving position, this car would, as far as I am concerned, have very little to recommend it.
