One of my friends who owns the 60S still hasnt had a recall and his brakes have now rusted. Already i thought. . I need a new car. But after i had the gasket fixed its been seemingly more reliable.

Now onto what i liek about this car. the fuel economy! i car do put £20 in it and get well over 200 miles sumtimes pushing 230 which i feel is extremely good. its comfortable inside too! and for a small car there is alot of space unfortunately none of this is in the boot.
In 2nd 3rd u deel like u in a sports car after this u think! where has the power gone? it is a very quick car until u hit 4th and if u increase revs in 3rd you run the risk of over heatinmg the engine.
Overall if you get the car checked before hand to make sure its 100% i feel like its a good first car. However if you not 100% and split between this and someything like a Corsa or Clio i would recommend testing all three and make sure you really want a punto. However this car has never broke down on me which must say something about puntos.
Advantages: cheap, nippy, tidy looking, room inside and boot Disadvantages: old by todays cars, need to keep up on service & maintenance
MK 1 fiatpunto75 elx 5 door 1996. owned for 9 years now. airbag squib switch problems 4 seperate occasions(£198), ended up putting on a aftermarket top of the range steering wheel and momo hub (£190). sump tends to corrode at the front because its so low and prone to stone chips.usual problems with brakes,suspention,etc.11 year old punto with less than 70 k miles.things have gone wrong with the car,only to be expected BUT it has never broken down or left me stranded anywhere.because of the age now, i have started spending money on it such as crank shaft oil seal (£40), replacement clutch (£80), sump (£60).exhausts corrode for fun on these cars(£80).lambda/oxygen sensor was replaced once before (£100).lack of power steering makes heavy steering when parking but not noticable when driving. no abs as standard on this model.

After months of driving round in my 2000 W plate 5 Door Punto 1.2 I think it's about time to dish out some opinions...
First off I'll be honest, I've been biased towards the FiatPunto ever since my family laid our hands on the older model 75 ELX and thankfully I still am. Basically the Punto is modern, unique Italian design with moderate safety measures and a decent track record for reliability... That is if you treat it well enough.

, can only be attributed to Audi?s interior designers, were it not for that fine interior, excepting the offset driving position, this car would, as far as I am concerned, have very little to recommend it.

Good acceleration to the car, considering the weight with a 1.8 you can imagine the car can really fly. Great turning circle for the car. Good overall views, nicely positioned gear stick, all round an impressive speedy mini car
sometimes sounds when reving high that you are driving a lawn mover, steering feels slightly heavy in comparison to similar cars at high speeds. Has temremental head garsket-+ (*)
