seicento sporting, full review
Advantages: cheap to buy, surprisngly quick, great fun, lots of character, good economy Disadvantages: some poorly maintained ones about, hanbrakes are pathetic, poor rear space
I own a 1999 Fiat Seicento Sporting, and have owned this particular car now for 8 months, before it, i owned a cinquecento sporting for a year. and i am a member of the owners club, so this is my review of near 2 years of 'cento ownership and living with the car and its quirks.
first off, the size of the car, now it is very small, we all know that, but there is a surprising amount of space in the front. don't believe people who say you won't fit ... ...nonsense, i am 6ft 2 and have plenty room to spare. i just need to make sure i don't have any passengers sit behind me that are over 4ft tall!, so bare that in mind if you're looking at one, if you carry more than 2 passengers, its maybe not quite the car for you. if you dont have so many passengers to consider, then great!, how much luggage do you carry? if you need to move wardrobes, you'll need a bigger car!, though saying that, the boot space ...

A mainly town car
Advantages: A good all round runabout or first car Disadvantages: Not really suitable as a family car
...a second hand 1999 registered Fiat Seicento SX with 17000 miles on the clock-colour Metallic Morocco Red. Being a widower I needed a reliable small car, mainly for local driving.
It has served me well with the usual wear and tear replacements of such things as exhaust, tyres etc. It has proved to be, in my opinion, quite a robust car. In fact 4 years ago I drove to Scotland, a distance of over 300 miles of motorway driving and amazingly it's 989cc ... ...70 plus miles per hour subject to traffic conditions.
Sun-roof, central locking, electric windows are plus items as is Insurance Group 1 and petrol economy-essential these days.
Mainly used locally and short runs of about 100 miles, enough to take me from A to B it has proved a very economical car.
The boot is small and I would not consider it suitable for a family of more than one child. One other criticism is that the pedals a rather close together. ...

Fiat Seicento
Advantages: small enough to do 360's in tiny spaces, runs very well with very little maintenance Disadvantages: the handbrake needs replacing after a few years.
Brilliant all round car, the only problem I have found with it is the handbrake can become lose, need replacing after a few years and a check kept on it after that. Also had to have a new exhaust put on it, probably due to not looking after it properly and I only washed it about 5 times in its life, Ive had it since December 2002, it was 6 months old then. The car is a fabulous little city car, very nippy, you can find parking spaces really easily, ... ...cars wouldnt be able too. This always amazes people and see it as a benefit of having a small car.
All in all this car is very reliable, in the 6 years I have had the car it had (touch wood) never broken down, in fact it has once, I ran out of petrol!! Speaking of petrol it is NOT a petrol guzzler, very cheap to run in fact. If you are (like me) a girly girl who doesnt know much about cars, you can run this car into the ground and it just gives ...

Great value for money.
Advantages: Cheap, quick, reliable. Disadvantages: Very small, no power steering or AC.
The Fiat Seicento is a very reliable, economic car. On the outside it looks the part and on the inside its simple interface and easy to use controls make it an easy ride. One other good point to this small car is that its suprisingly fast. The drawbacks include no power steering or air con but neither are really neccessary. There is no glove compartment which can lead to clatter around the car. There are electric windows however the switches are ...

Excellent little car, no problems
Advantages: small, stylish, economical Disadvantages: none
Since owning this small motor i have been very impressed. Its very economical and very nippy, its not slow as you would expect from a 1.1, rather the opposite!!!
Driving this vehicle is a pleasure, its smooth and quiet. Its easy to park absolutely anywhere because of it being small and unlike lots of small cars its actually nice inside with rounded dashboard and all the gadgets so its like a proper little car and not just a box like some.
I personally ... ...first time buyers or anyone that just wants a small car.
i have drove all over the country in this car, i trust it that much. If you have one of these you can be assured that you have a very reliable car. My brother is a mechanic, he sold it to me and says that they are solid. ...
