    Advantages Advantages Cheap to buy and run, many features, lots of car for the money, mechanically strong.

    Disadvantages Disadvantages dull image, slow, Electrical glitches can be annoying, needs proper service to give its best, must get the best of the lot

    My brother recently acquired his driving license. Being only 19 and without any experience, there was no force on earth that could convince me to let him drive my BMW. So, he had some savings and after realizing the bitter truth that my car was out of his reach (for now), he decided to buy one of his own.     In response to my first review of this car (and my first Ciao review, which was admittedly a little rushed) I have submitted this updated review in reaction to some of the comments received. I hope this review is of more use. Fiat Tipo 1.6 DGT I bought this 1991 model year car after looking for something that would be cheap to run and wouldn't be too much of a headache on long motorway journeys. It had two previous lady owners and 97,000 miles on the clock when I bought it. I have now completed 119,000 relatively trouble free miles in the car.     Fiat Tipo 1.6 DGT SX I first acquired the Fiat Tipo as I required a quick and cheap replacement for my trusty old Peugeot 405 which had finally given up the ghost. In the cheaper end of the 2nd hand car market the Tipo is neither over priced, over thrashed or underpowered which is an almost unique factor in its favour. Looks wise it is quite distinctive. The low front spoiler coupled with the chunky looking rear hatch and tinted reverse light covers lend it a sporty look whilst the 5-door functionality makes it suitable for the young family.
