When I've hade repairs done to the car the dealers seem to have no trouble at all getting parts - the Uno has been going for yonks now, mine is 14 years old I think (D-reg) and the nineties saw the release of new updated models.

The original Uno 45 came without a radio - there were spaces for a deck and speakers in the back and one in the front. So, make sure that whatever radio is in there has been put in correctly (mine wasn't as you might've guessed, but a bit of wiring and it was fine).
But by far my favourite feature of this car is the ability to twist the windscreen washers to the left - and spray the unknowing pedestrian! You wouldn't believe the fun you can have. Brightens up any day to see the power-suited business man thinking a bird has dropped one on his jacket. Or the irate old granny at the bus-stop.
A good buy in my opinion, fun, fast(ish), and full of personality.
Advantages: Cheap to run, easy to handle Disadvantages: Some small problems with electrics
Currently I own a Fiat Uno 45 S (1989 model - E Reg), with a 999 cc engine, original factory fittings (apart from the radio cassette player), jet black, 3 doors & no sunroof.
I have had the Fiat Uno for nearly half a year now. I have to say that it is extremely easy to drive, steering is easy to handle, it is very economical to drive (it costs me about 10 quid to drive from Canterbury to London based on 80 pence / litre).
However there ... ...Fiat Uno before you splash out your precious money!
When starting the car up in the morning (or when the weather is cold), you need to pull the choke out to nearly full when starting the engine. Otherwise the car will 'stutter' and leave you with a dead engine! Also the suspension is almost non existent! I live in an area where sleeping policemen are a common feature, so I get the full rollercoaster ride everyday!
Another thing is that ...

Advantages: Economy, good engines, surprising space Disadvantages: Rattly, Gearboxes, rust on earlier models
...no surprise because the little Fiat is surprisingly reliable despite appearing rattly.
Expect lively performance, reliability and good economy from the 999cc FIRE engine which should also prove easy for the DIY mechanic. There`s a surprising amount of space too though the seat aren`t particularly well padded. The MK2 models were a vast improvement in this area. These cars handle well too and parts are very reasonable and easy to find.
I contrast, ...

Advantages: Easy to drive, good first car, cheap to run, good gear changing, nice size for short journey's Disadvantages: need to use quite alot accel to move off, rattles abit
The car is very cheap to run. The drive is very enjoyable, although my car only has 4 gears it is very fast. I am attached to the car and would consider kitting it up. I picked mine up for £260. It is in good working order, very economical and nice engine. A very practical ideal first car, it is also stylish looking. It has lots of room on the inside, surprising when you look at the car from the outside. Very nippy car, steering becomes even better ...

Advantages: I like the interior very much. Disadvantages: Not very reliable car
FiatUno have started to make in 1983. in 1989 manufacturers have improved this model: wider forward headlights have been inserted, the form of a lattice in front has been changed, on doors the protective plastic strips have been added.
Me and a pair of my firends have carried out an research (in university) about technical condition of used FiatUno (about many other cars to).
In Lithuania in group of small cars, FiatUno on popularity takes the third place. You will find more often cars (Uno's) with 13-18 years of age.
Body: 3 door or 5 doors, H-back, with 4-5 sits.
Engine: FiatUno with 1.0 Otto (gasoline) engine meets in Lithuania very often. There is 4 cylinders, and it is cooled by a liquid. Front is the driving axle.
Now I'l tell what conclusions have i made on the basis ...

Advantages: Good at what it does Disadvantages: Totally dated now
Just a Fiat saddo me, but I have had several of these Unos. I suppose we are talking about the ones after 1992 here when Fiat stopped called them the 45s and they became the 1.0`s.
Actually, to start with Fiat got it right on the Uno - space, cheapness, cuteness, good engines and so on but they gradually tweaked it with better FIRE engines, a new body (to an extent) in 89 and more comfortable, plush interiors. The Uno ceased production in 95 but still plenty to buy secondhand if you want a cheap, reliable motor.
Generally speaking, you won`t get much trouble off these - the FIRE engines are almost bulletproof and they do what you want to do if you bought one to a high standard - I mean, you are not going to do a Grand Prix in one. Even if you did, it would relish the challenge and certainly start first time.
Don`t get me wrong ...

Advantages: stunning looks, great drive, great interior and build quality Disadvantages: fairly pricey to maintain (fuel consumption, insurance etc.) possible future depreciation
and mph etc.). This is rather complex to use especially figuring out the trip computer. I still have to re-read the manual to figure this out so I guess it could be a little more user friendly. Not something to play with toomuch whilst your driving for sure. The dials all glow with a pleasing racy red glow which is nice at nice.
The steering wheel is full adjustable which is good for accomodating different sized drivers.
Driving position and vision is generally good though some of the thick side pillars can get in the way and create a few blind spots. This is mainly to accomodate the multitide of air bags, they appear to be pretty much everywhere. I imagine one is most likely to die from suffocation in the event of a crash!
Driving Experience:
Well moving from my 45hp fiatuno to this 150hp hot hatch was quite a shock, though not as ...
