Hi, I work in the optical industry as a locum, (technician/sales,manegment).
As a locum I have a lot of spare time, mainly shopping or tinkering with my cars.

Its a shame that Fiats always get slated in the press, and by and large are regarded as unreliable. It is my belief that Fiats are great cars but are let down by their dealerships.
As a Fiat owner I have almost two years experience in dealing with Two dealers in London(DESIRA, HAYES AND THAMES, SLOUGH.) Unfortunately the experience is not good at all. M car was purchased from Thames, and up to the point of driving the car off the forecourt the experienvce was very good.
But six months into ownership things started to go wrong, the first and most important issue was with the cars front tyres, both were worn out on the inside edge after only 12000m(purchased 6 months old with 7000m on the clock). Initially the dealer was was fairly helpful, in providing a courtesy car, and repairing the car under warranty.(paying for 50% of the tyre cost)
So I was happy customer, even though lots fo small problems occured which were all repaired by the dealer.(mainly electrical)
A few thousands miles later the same tyre problem occured, so I decided to take the car to Desira Fiat, just because it was closer than Thames, they said there was a problem which Fiat are aware of and had been corrected.
To explain the problem in simple terms the front tyres needed a laser alingment, which I was assured had been carried out twice.
To date I am on the third set of fronts in 20,000m, which I think you will agree is oddd. I had given up all hope of the dealers ability to resolbe the issue, and had to get the car looked at myself. I approached an independent wheel alignment specialist was informed that the misalignment was off the scale, but it only required the tightening if a nut which took only a few minutes.
So to conclude, a problem that two Fiat dealers could not resolve in 18 months was fixed in 15 mins by an independent garage.
Please dont let this review put you off buying a Fiat, the cars are great I just wish I could say the same about the Dealers.
