As the title suggests, the trilogy takes a darker turn in this book. The story picks up from where it ended in book 1. Anna starts her new life and new job in Seattle after leaving Christian... more

Advantages Advantages learn more about Christian's past, see the relationship develop

    Disadvantages Disadvantages none for me

Anyone that read my Fifty shades of Grey review would be aware that I was completely taken by the story and so when I got to the end of the book I was very glad that I had the second book in the trilogy, Fifty shades darker, sitting on my book case waiting to be read. As with the first book I read the 544 pages in a week and was as taken by this one as I was the first and this is my review of it. In Fifty shades of Grey we see Anastasia Steele and Christian Grey start what can only be described as a complicated relationship which initially begins with Christian wanting to enter in to a ... more

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Some characters!

I had heard about this whole Fifty Shades of Grey thing, and whilst I was interested about what the whole craze was, I was determined not to buy into the whole thing. UNTIL…my friend read it and told me how good it was and offered to lend me her copy of the book!! Fifty Shades Darker is a novel by E L James. It is the second book in the ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ Trilogy. The book was released in the United Kingdom in April 2012 and so it is very recent. The paperback is currently available to buy from Amazon for a price of £3.19 which I think is good value for money. ~ * Plot (as described on ... more

Disadvantages Disadvantages Argh, "the telltale rip of foil", argh

Not a lot of time has passed since the first instalment of Ana's adventures with the man she calls Fifty Shades. Perhaps unusually for a follow up it's not months or years later, in fact just a few days have gone by. Lots of things have changed, though. Successful businessman Christian is still our tortured hero and Ana, now in her first proper job, remains our befuddled heroine but they're not Christian-and-Ana any more having parted ways at the end of book one. At the same time, a lot has stayed the same. They're not having quite as much dirty sex as they were but the tensions are still ... more

    Advantages Advantages More Mr. Grey!

Disadvantages Disadvantages repetitive, repetitive, repetitive, repetitive!

Fifty Shades Darker is the second book in the Fifty Shades trilogy written (poorly) be E L James. The fist book was Fifty Shades of Grey (also reviewed) and the third one which I am currently reading is Fifty Shades Freed. I didn't want to read the first book but gave in to it in the end and really enjoyed it. The ending was left very open with the main female character (Anastasia Steele) walking out on her lover (Christan Grey). After reading this I couldn't wait to read the second one to see what happened and I had pretty much fallen for Mr. Grey by the end so needed my fix. Well I was as ... more
