MoneySupermarket is an excelent comparrison site

Advantages: It show's what companies are searched and the results of them all sucessful or not
Disadvantages: Can be inaccurate

This site is excellent for comparing insurance quotes from a variety of suppliers. I have used it for 2 years now and each year it has provided me with the cheapest quote for both Car and Home insurance. There is a couple of slight problems with the site, the first is that on a few quotes, when you try to get them it turns out that the actual quote is higher than the site. The only way around that is for moneysupermarket to take a lot more information ...
...lot of time being wasted. It would be nice however to have the option to do this if you wanted too. The other problem I found out when I moved into a new home is that it takes quite a time for moneysupermarket to update their post code database, so I had to resort to the old method of calling round all companies (A lot of the companies also do not update their records well and refused to quote as well) Overall I would recommend this site to anybody ...

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE !!

Advantages: Lots of features
Disadvantages: None of them work

Shockingly SHOCKINGLY poor service.!!!!! They're owned by the halifax so I thought it was a safe company.. Opened an account with them 3-4 months ago.. For the first month I could not log in.. took approx 15-20 phone calls, with each time a promise it would be sorted before it finally worked. First time I tried to buy shares, the transfer function did'nt work, meaning I couldnt transfer funds from my bank to finance the purchase.. another 2 weeks ...
...the account.. but when I tried to purchase shares, I got an error saying I had no funds in the account, even though I had transfered cash and could see the balance on the same screen!! more phone calls. Great.. everything seemed to be working, bought shares in 6 companies over the next few weeks. One of the companies issued a profit warning.. I tried to sell shares.. got an error saying I didnt own the shared, even though I could clearly see them ...

The Fool is an excellent resource of information

Advantages: Free, impartial & one of the first places you should go
Disadvantages: does not list true high yield investments

I use XE a lot

Advantages: Simple layout, accurate conversions, lots of currencys.
Disadvantages: Sometimes have to click through the first page to get the currency I want.

xe.com is a currency conversion website, useful for checking currency rates in almost every currency in the world, even obselete ones, I'm not sure what these obselete currency checks are for, possibly research, but other users to the site will be currency dealers and general public wanting to check how much they should get for their holiday cash exchanges. Personally I find it useful, and almost always have it in my recent sites drop down bar, ...
