Freequotes has recently undergone a major site re-vamp - unsuccesfully. The new site is slow and clumsy, though the facilities remain basic. Apart from the free real time quotes, you have the option to se up your own "hot list" to track a small portfolio - but not in real time. The hot list prices are 15 minutes delayed. I have always found the Times Money site to be a current, up-to-date information that has been useful for what i have used it for. The site offers a range of best buys on things like credit cards, current savings account, notice accounts, personal loans, and internet account. Proquote lets you see level 2 prices on your screen just as a stockbroker can. It tells you how many buys and sells there are and at how many different prices people want to buy them. It also gives you up to the second prices updates and market news. Proquote is a new company and is the first of its kind. It has already won an award in the uk equity awards 2001. When I first came across Citywire through a search engine I found it to be the best financial website I had ever come across. It gives up to the minute news (even on the weekends. This includes the tips from the different newspapers) as well as having a forum where you can chat to other users about different stocks. Citywire also gives stock quotes of all the shares on the London stock exchange, however these are delayed by 15 minutes. This is made ...

It also gives the shares p/e ratio (price per earnings ratio) as well as giving its turnover for the year etc. Citywire also conducts its own research reports that are very useful (especially after recovering from the losses made in the 'technology boom'). Hoovers.co.uk is a resource that has been a renowned in America for years. However, the site has made its way to the UK and thank God that it did! The site provides company capsules, which are independent overviews of every listed and many independent companies in the UK.
