I have had a dishwasher for as long as i can remember, i really don't like washing up, not just that i have 3 children and a dog and i am self employed and work from home so i guess you could say i really don't have time.
I don't know about you but i always swill my plates before i put them in the dishwasher, it gets a lot of the dirt off first, but my eldest daughter just plonks the plates and that straight in so it really has to work miracles sometimes, i have found all sorts of stuff at the bottom of the dishwasher when i come to empty it peas and even the odd potato mushed up.
You using a dishwasher cleaner every now and then is a real must. Keeps it working in tip top condition.
~Facts~
Dishwashers
will reduce the spread of germs. A dishwasher washes the dishes in temperatures of 50-70°C, a far higher temperature than hands can very handle. Finish dishwasher detergent is also a lot stronger than washing up liquid and contains ingredients which ensure food soils are broken down and washed away during the washing cycle, so in our case that's a good job. As a result of this Finish detergent ensures a far higher standard of cleanliness than could be achieved by hand washing alone. This means that harmful bacteria are destroyed which may not have been is just hand washed. (That's quiet a scary fact).
Did you know that a used, damp tea towel can harbour up to 30,000,000,000,000 (30 trillion).
I remember as a child (there were 4 of us) 1 had to wash 1 had to dry and 1 had to put away, what a chore.
Under favourable conditions (such as lukewarm water) a single germ can multiply up to four million times in only eight hours. YUK.
Dishwashers save you so much time as well over a period of a year it could save you 3 weeks worth of washing up, that's a lot of time at the kitchen sink, and saves water again over a period of a year you could fill up 40 baths with the water you use to wash up in.
Also it makes space everything is packed away neatly out of sight giving you more room in your kitchen.
So i think it safe to say that dishwasher are a lot better and safer then washing up, so keeping them running properly is for the best.

It comes in a small 250ml bottle either Regular or Orange oil fragrances. This goes straight into your dishwasher.
~directions for use~
Empty the dishwasher of plates etc and then remove the seal on the top of the bottle, place upside down in the cutlery holder and then run your program, preferably on 65 degrees.
~what does it achieve~

~Does it work~
Yes it does, sometimes you get plates out and there are not quiet clean, but after using this product you really don't have that problem. It also leaves your dishwashing smelling fresh and clean. So yes i would also recommend this product to any one.
Finish is a well known and trusted band that has been around since 1957. Also all leading dishwasher manufacturers recommend using finish.
I have in the past used cheaper dishwasher cleaners but in no way do you get the same effect, so it does not work any cheaper in the long run.
~Price~
In a twin pack from Sainsbury's it costs £5.49 At asda for a single one is £2.98 also £2.98 at tescos and waitrose it is £5.65 so definitely worth while getting a twin pack if you can.
~Overall opinion~
Well i use it, it beats the dishwasher breaking down and spending out money to get it fixed or buying a new one. It does the job that it says it does. Maybe a bit expensive but i think it is worth it.
