I cant pretend I wasn't dissapointed when this TV arrived, which was sent as a replacement by my insurance company after a lightning strike on my house. I was not happy to get a budget TV in exchange for my Finlux SkyDesign, which when bought was about as good as you could get. But, they were hardly likely to replace a 20 odd year old TV with a 50 inch plasma were they? The manual was hopeless, but as the TV was so easy to set up it really didn't matter. Lots of connectivity meant that I could discard adaptors, all of my equipment plugging directly in. The picture and sound quality are remarkable for the price, and plenty of features only add to the value, but I have no access to HD, so unfortunately I cannot comment on that. This is a preset/learning remote,which learns from your other remotes so you can get rid of your others. However, it doesn't speak Finnish as it won't learn my Finlux TV's controls but it does speak Dutch as it and our Philips video have bonded so well I won't be surprised if they disappear to a hotel room together.
The manual is fairly lengthy, but worth the read just so you get some idea of what it can do.
Set up is easy, various phono/coaxial connectors at the back of the head unit and custom connectors to the sub. The wires come with labels so no mistakes there. We spent more time hiding the wires to the rear speakers under the carpets than actually putting it all ...
