Advantages: Good read, funny moments
Disadvantages: I found it took a while to get into
...was very clever in that it was a light hearted but touching story, yet it also addressed the deeper issues connected with family and personal relationships without being too heavy.
It is well worth a read, although the author is new to me, I would certainly look out for further works on her part, and this book will remain part of my collection.

This year, on Mother’s Day, my daughter bought me a book. She also bought her prospective motherinlaw a book, too. Her prospective motherinlaw got one called ‘Mother’s Day’. I, however, got one called ‘The Secret Life of the Slummy Mummy’! I didn’t feel hurt by this, I thought it was funny, and also, probably the most appropriately titled one for my mothering. Not that I consider myself to be particularly slummy, there are worst homes than mine, but to be fair, the majority are much tidier.
I will call the book Slummy Mummy from now on, as I fear I will get RSI if I keep writing it in full.
