Who has ever been calm when taking a pregnancy test? Pregnancy tests are fraught with anxiety. When I was younger, I was petrified that I might actually be pregnant. I would pray that the little blue line would not appear on the pregnancy test. It seemed to me that my whole future depended on the appearance or non-appearance of that line – how would I cope? Advantages Easy ti use, well packaged, quick result.
Disadvantages Nothing.

When I was told by the doctor to test for pregnancy to rule it out as an option for my sickness and stomach pains I completely discounted it but after a couple of days of it playing on my mind I thought it couldn't hurt to check and so off I went to the local chemist. As a nervous 18 year old I had no idea which option to choose from the huge variety available. As I wasn't planning on it being an option I didn't want to go for a test that was hugely expensive but then again I also didn't want to spend too little and end up with a false result and so this particular option seemed like a good ... more

Advantages easy to use, extremely cheap, Very early accurate results
Disadvantages A right devil to open, which way the window should be on, Using the second one before I went back to the bin to retrieve the first one, what I would have done with the second one though,I haven't a clue

Now, you may think that there is very little difference in pregnancy test kits, especially when they are on cheap in the pound shop. This is where you would be totally wrong. First response, normally a totally reliable brand, is one that can detect the pregnancy hormone HCG at a very early stage, in this case it states that it can detect HCG as soon as the day before your period is due. Imagine the scene, Mrs wishywalshy anxious to discover whether her feelings were true or not, I might be or I might not. One quick piddle on the stick should provide the answer once and for always. Advantages Very accurate and can test BEFORE period due
Disadvantages Quite pricey

I AM Pregnant!! This is the second test that I bought this week that finally confirmed what I already knew myself, that I was indeed pregnant, up the duff, in the family way, whatever you want to call it, my first child is on it’s way! Hindsight is a great thing now that I wish that I had bought this test first, but I didn’t as it was the most expensive (£8.75 Boots) and when you feel fairly sure that there is a visitor in your tummy you tend to plump for cheap and cheerful, just to confirm your thoughts, unfortunately for me, cheap and cheerful was inaccurate for me this time so it cost me ... more

This is the pregnancy test that FINALLY told me that I was pregnant! I did research on the internet about which tests would show a positive result the quickest - that is, with the smallest amount of HCG (human chorionic gonadotropin) present.
